Drama Digest

‘You’re my destiny’ has a storyline that revolves around the fate of the main leads of the story. Satoh Aya (female protagonist) who is an ordinary office worker, is known as the ‘sticky woman’ as she covers post-it notes detailing tasks that she completes for others. However, she never complains about being taken advantage of. She  meets the youngest heir to a corporation, Ichijo Kei (male protagonist), who is eager to get married because his grandmother, also the chairwomen of the corporation, feels the need of an heir. These two people from two different worlds encounter each other in unexpected cases. This situation leads to unexpected problems. What are the situations? How do they tackle them? Watch the series to know more     .

The Feel-Good Part

Unlike other ‘Fated to Love You’ versions, the main lead has been well presented with a realistic character. The acting skills of all the main leads and supporting actors have potential. A standard modern drama. The soundtrack is excellent and indulging throughout the show.

The Disappointing Factor

There are quite a few dissatisfying points in the drama, mainly the unpleasing and never-ending miscommunication and misunderstanding between the main leads, which drags the plot to pull and push, making it overly dramatic. It loses its absolute sense episode after episode. The screenwriting has an unpleasing pace and format.  A very unsatisfying end, although it will have a second season.

In-Depth Analysis

This Japanese version of the story is an ideal love plot with an unsatisfactory ending. The drama starts with the typical rich male lead and poor female lead spark but eventually, it drags the male conflict out, and there is a lack of mutual understanding between the couple. After all the misunderstanding, the scene of abortion consent has been done awfully. Aya decides to leave her feelings and Kei, being understanding, lets her go without apologizing because he felt guilty. He tries his best, but Aya at some points was not understanding. After them being apart, there are very few segments of them falling for each other again, which somehow destroyed the story.

Star Power

The story is enhanced by the acting skills of the female lead and supporting cast. One can look forward to the drama as it shows that destiny is all about ‘the choices we make and the chances we take’.

Overall Opinion

This is not a perfect drama, but it could be given a shot. It is fluff and light-weighted drama with pace. Overall it is an okay, decent watch drama.
