“Dong Dok Mai,” also known as “Desirable Flowers,” is a 2022 Thai drama. It is of the romance genre and focuses on a young attorney named Boonparet. It is adapted from a novel by the same name written by Nantana Weerachon.
The Feel-Good Part
The start of the show is well and the characters are good.
The Disappointing Factor
The show did not have anything that matched the description or the genre. The show indicates that women are financially disadvantaged in society. It is repetitively outdated and the script writing is poor. The morality shown is the kid’s old and has no entertainment value. It tries to present itself as denouncing the sexual harassment and inequalities faced by women but it fails miserably. The ending of a squad is predictable and makes no sense. There was a sudden illogical change in all the characters, which was nonsensical. In every respect of rape and sexual harassment brought upon in the show, the characters in the drama have no compassion for the victims but use it to their advantage. The show is simply an insult to the whole woman community.
In-Depth Analysis
Boonparet is a young and eager attorney. He is working on a case that represents his half-brother Phongdanai. Phongdanai is a womanizer and a playboy, who has many mistresses, one of whom is Boonparet’s best friend. Phongdanai secretly likes Chisamai who is an attorney trainee. She is assigned to handle the case so that they can we together often. After learning the truth about him, she decides to work against him. So, she acts as Boonparet’s best friend to file for a divorce.
Star Power
The show’s cast played their characters, but their contribution to the show spoiled all their talents. Push Puttichai Kasetsin delivered a satisfactory performance as Phongdanai, but his negative role as a character degraded his skills. The other leading roles also played their part gracefully.
Overall Opinion
Overall, this drama is a waste of time. There is no logic behind any of the incidents, and the characters are all nonsensical, with no sense of societal norms. It insults the women’s community as it ignores severe societal issues like rape and sexual harassment. It is not worth watching and is a complete waste of potential.
