Drama Digest:

The anime is based on a mysterious phenomenon known as the Global Synchronic Urban Disappearance, which caused a large chunk of Ikebukuro to disappear overnight. After this, some unexplained electromagnetic anomalies called ‘Auroras’ began to be seen. On the other hand, a high school student Seria Morino inspired by a theater, decided to become an idol. Then she meets a young woman named Karou Sakakibura, who is the director of Alice in Theater. To pursue her dream she follows to Alice theatre and meets with a new group of young girls and boys who have the same dream as her. However, something seems off to her. Why did she think like that? Let’s find out the mystery with Seria.

The Feel-Good Part:

The best part of this anime is the music. As this is an idol drama there has to be music and Gekidol doesn’t fail to provide good music to the audience. The music is just top class. Their songs give that typical idol vibes. The stage performance is also beautifully presented. The series is a blend of idol drama and sci-fi. The drama plot is set after five years of a mysterious disappearance and our lead role, Seria is determined to find it out. The drama also shows a good friendship between the young girls and boys of Alice theatre. This drama also shows that determination to fulfill your dream is the key to success. The anime gives you hope. This is one of the positive factors of this anime.

Star Power:

Hikaru Akao as Seria Morino’s voice actor has done her job well. Her effort behind this character is worth appreciation.

The Disappointing Factor:

The anime failed to give what it actually meant. It fails to portray the main concept at the end of the show. The plot wants to blend sci-fi to the idol, but in the end, it actually makes no sense. There are many loopholes in the plot. There are many unanswered mysteries. The ideas presented in the first few episodes didn’t execute properly at the end. So many secrets make the show complicated and lose its flow. Those who want to watch a light idol drama will be disappointed as the theme is darker than it seems.

In-Depth Analysis:

This anime is more than a simple idol drama. The theme is darker and deeper. Only during the performance, lighter shades have appeared. The girls are the only hope when the world is falling into an abyss. They suffer many hurdles from the departure of important actors to losing their performance venue, but they never give up. The show gives us a ray of hope. The anime also blends idol concept with sci-fi, which makes it more interesting to watch.

Overall opinion:

Overall those who are a fan of sci-fi can give it a try but it is more than that. The theme is really dark. Hence who want to watch fluffy idol drama or do not like to brainstorm with dark themes may not like this show. For others, they can watch it at least once.
