Drama Digest:

It is said that Grand Princess Li Yun Zhen leads an opulent lifestyle with numerous male bodyguards as her concubines. She lacks compassion and is ruthless. Additionally, she is the actual political power in the court. In order to expose the Princess’ corruption and overthrow her government, the Emperor sends the dashing Gu Xuan Qing as an undercover agent to the Princess’ manor. The royal guard begins to fall in love with the princess as he learns more about the real princess and how little she resembles the rumor.

The Feel-Good Part:

The plot is not particularly original, but their chemistry made it entertaining to watch.

The Disappointing Factor:

You may not find it worth remembering in the music scene.

In-Depth Analysis:

With the actors and actresses they selected, the cast and the story are truly excellent. For those who enjoy drama, it is too brief. The couple is extremely attractive, and there is undeniable chemistry between them. Everything is communicated through their eyes and body language. Each episode lasts two minutes. It will take you 56 minutes to see the complete series. The drama’s premise is a little unique. It brings to mind the gender-reversed Ooku: The Inner Chambers. This historical drama chronicles the story of the Princess Royal, the elder sister of the current emperor, who has a small harem of her own instead of the traditional Emperor or Crown Prince in historical dramas. Naturally, she develops feelings for the person who enters her harem for ulterior reasons. It is not a profound drama. There isn’t a complex plot that compels you to evaluate every circumstance in order to stay afloat. The martial art, the background, and the costume are all quite nice and not too tacky for the eyes. However, because it is a web drama, the presentation quality is lower than with mainstream ones, and some of the supporting actors could use some work on their acting because it is so awkward/unnatural.

Star Power:

Despite being very stiff, the principal actors clicked well with one another. I hope they appear more frequently as they perhaps hone their abilities further. They were seen together in an advertisement, so it’s possible. With both the main and supporting characters, there are a few details and reveals added toward the end that might entice viewers to watch it again.

Overall Opinion:

Absolutely enjoyed this drama’s narrative. And the series was ideal for social media and for micro audiences (which, naturally, when compared to a standard production drama, is riddled with flaws). The extent to which the brilliant FL used people’s views and allegiances to further her goals—which viewers did not fully understand until the very end—was fantastic to behold.
