The Feel-Good Part
The comedy and romance have perfect timing, giving the viewers a nice light feeling. There aren’t any evil family members, and the supporting characters also blend in smoothly with the whole story. After its first season of the drama, Night Of The Comet 2 can be a standalone show. If there’s anything similar between both seasons is the coming of the comet, apart from which the whole story till the climax is different, making the second season refreshing too.
The entire plot has close to three-time loops, which are timely and needed to build the story further as the show reaches its end.
The Disappointing Factor
Usually, the OST or music of the drama is quite serene that you would want to listen to them once again on youtube playlists on websites. But in this drama, the music is not standing out that much to a listener. It is the only major drawback of the series.
In-Depth Analysis
The female lead, Ban Xiao Xin, is a vlogger ( like a YouTuber) who does live streaming for viewers. She lands an interview under the male leads company. The viewers are soon introduced to the first time space shift of the series here, when Lin Se He saves the girl from drowning before they know it, both of them get pulled into the portal that takes them to their first moments together, aka the first interview. The characters do not want anything to do with each other, as they started on a wrong foot the characters gradually develop feelings for each other, adding on as the story progresses.
Of course, every happy ever after has a villain. In this show, the evil guy is out to get both the drama leads for different reasons. Lin Se He and Bai Xiao Xan, go through a constant chase, panic, danger, and finally to the end bringing the conspiracy of male lead’s death to come true, But then, BAM!
The characters are again pulled in another loop of time, back to their first moments together i.e, the interview. This time though, only the male lead remembers the time loop. Therefore, he goes ahead, pursues the girl, and moves along the storyline together to find them a way to avoid the same tragic ending and find answers to the conspiracy.
The male lead will come off as cold and overbearing to you at first but soon grows on you, especially after meeting Bai Xiao Xin.
In the first universe or the first time loop, the characters start on the wrong foot with each other.
In the second universe, or the second time-loop, ML does blame the FL, but he slowly starts falling for her. In the third universe, or the third time loop, since he is the one who remembers it all, he decides to pursue her even if she is a little hesitant, he’s head over heels for her. All three loops are important as, after each time, the ML gets clues that lead to the climax.
Star Power
Both characters have their charms. The male lead wins you over with his dorky and adorable side, the FL is not the typical shy and clumsy type, but she knows when to show what exactly. The chemistry is mesmerizing, and the whole falling in love ordeal is quite sweet and realistic. Since there is no awkward acting even the little gestures between the leads will warm your heart. Of the stand-out parts are also where sometimes the male lead saves the FL, and sometimes the FL rescues the ML creating a nice balance.
Overall Opinion
The Night of The Comet 2 is a satisfying watch from the start to Bai Xiao Xin & Lin Se He’s a happy ending.
