The Feel-Good Part

The story is too grasping to let go. Recurrent plot twists and the illusion of truth make it more riveting.

The Disappointing Factor

The immensity of unnecessary actions often draws out the essence tending to give it a lagging nature. The confusing and tangled pattern of the story gives the vibe of mixing ultimate blockbuster detective films. Since the drama consists of 31 episodes, each of them for about 40 mins, the entwined storyline seems to blatantly hold the function of engrossing the viewer under any means.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama indicates the philosophy of “breaking and choosing”. Even though the structure of the plot is simplistic but the intricacies inclined to drive it towards an adrenaline rush, which is one of the significant aspects of mainstream Chinese mystery dramas. By adding an extra thread of Mr, A to the already complicated family chain of revenge, it lengthens the drama. That way, it also continuously plays with the viewer’s mind and thus diverting the conclusion for a longer time. Nevertheless, it doesn’t fail to surprise with each rupture of clues.

Star Power

The cast superbly nailed the drama. Zhang Guo Li’s performance as a philanthropist and his rivalry with Lu Liang is adamantly portrayed. Moreover, the tension of the trio of main cast Zheng Kai, Raymond Lam, and Zhang Guo, don’t fail to gain attention. Raymond Lam’s depiction of multiple personalities in his characters is specifically noteworthy. Zhang Guo, too bid adieu, to the modern aspect of affection and thus gave a new face to betrayal. Zhong Dan Ni as Xiong Zhen Nan did an excellent depiction of her character. The supporting roles were meticulous in bringing depth to the drama.

Overall Opinion

If you’re a fan of never-ending actions and complicated plot twists, this drama could be the perfect addition to the list. The illusion of truth makes it more compelling to decipher the maze.
