Drama Digest
Captain Qin Guan is a tough soldier. Since his last mission failed, he created a team of extra highly skilled soldiers. This team is called Blue Lightning Commandos. Ning Meng joins the recruitment and gets selected. Qin and Ning, with others, work together to fight the terrorists. Through this chaos, Qin and Ning fall in love with each other.
The Feel-Good Part
Many of the military genres are focused on males. But in this drama, there is equal representation for men and women. They have mainly concentrated on the military and action aspect and gave a small space for romance with limits.
The Disappointing Factor
The antagonists, i.e., the terrorists, were very basic. There was not any innovative way to show their impact on the story.
In-Depth Analysis
This show is one of the best military-based Chinese dramas. It goes at an engaging pace with fascinating subplots to the main story. The cinematography, action choreography, and props are to be appreciated as these helped in elevating the drama distinctly. The failure of Qin Guan’s last mission resulted in the formation of an elite and powerful team Blue Lightning Commandos, to avenge. He is a strict captain, but he is also very kind. He makes sure to put all his effort and focus into his work. This character of his helps him to choose the best people to train. One of his recruits is Ning Meng. She is a strong lady who joins the military to honor her brother. The Blue Lightning fights the terrorists pretty hard. While all this chaos goes on, Qin and Ning start to develop feelings for each other. They have focused on action and military aspects while giving romance small limelight.
Star Power
Gao Wei Guang (Qin Guan) and Hu Bing Qing (Ning Meng) worked hard to portray their characters well. Both of them gave us exciting chemistry that was enjoyable throughout the show. All the actors did a great job with stunts and military training.
Overall Opinion
If you love or do not love military-based dramas, you have to watch this show. It will keep you engaged from the start till the end!
