Along the process, Liu Yuan Wen becomes involved with Mr. Ou’s daughter, Ou Ke Xin. But the deeper Liu Yuan Wen delves into K Group’s power battle, the more complicated he realizes things will become.

The Feel-Good Part

The driving force of the drama is the suspense element. The plot systematically builds suspense and tension, which indulges the viewers’ attention in the story till the end.

The Disappointing Factor

There was hardly any romance in the drama, as it would have helped show character development among the main leads. The ending was a little disappointing. It felt rushed in the last couple of episodes.

In-Depth Analysis

Never Say Goodbye may sound like a romantic title, but it is not a romance drama. The focus is on covert work and the journey to deconstruct a narcotics cartel from the inside. Interestingly, there is no honor among thieves, and the drama merely used this topic to tell the story of an undercover agent exploiting the members’ greed and distrust of one another to dismantle their syndicate. The plot is simple to follow and does not go off in any direction. Events will keep things moving as Mu Qing goes after one drug king after another within the syndicate. As his identity is at risk of being revealed, there are some tense and exciting moments. There is also apprehension about what will happen to the brotherhood he formed with Ruo Sheng. The ending turns out to be very anti-climatic after a constant build-up of the mission to arrest the drug lord. Few of the ending scenes are open to the viewers’ interpretation.

Star Power

Allen Ren (Liu Yuan Wen/Mu Qing) and Janine Chang (Ou Ke Xin) did their best with the roles. They are both experienced artists. They exhibited platonic chemistry rather than as lovers in the drama.

Overall Opinion

It is a good show that has a thrilling plot with no romance. Watch this for the action and the story!
