Drama Digest

A CEO who dislikes crowds marries an underprivileged heiress under contract. They first butt heads since they had different personalities, but with time they grew to trust one another. As they fall in love, these flawed souls assist one another in healing.

The Feel-Good Part

This romantic comedy began with every cliche that could possibly exist in a television drama: a contract marriage; a foolish, immature, destitute girl; a cold, traumatized CEO; and accidental kisses. This drama could take some time for you to get into, but because that’s how it always is for me, I didn’t mind too much. The female lead is not as stupid and irritating as you probably anticipated. I eventually grew to truly like her. The male lead made it more difficult for me to adapt. This was undoubtedly not how a girl should be treated, regardless of how incapable of handling other people’s and his own feelings he was claimed to be.

The Disappointing Factor

The silly, stretched-out misunderstandings made it difficult to sit through this drama series. At the same time, the first few episodes were really difficult to watch because it was the same as any other cliché Chinese drama and the characters had nothing interesting to say.

In-Depth Analysis

Zhou Jian Qing (Yan Zhi Chao), a wealthy family’s daughter, was brought up to be a princess. Jian Qing has spent her whole life having everything she could possibly want at her fingertips. Her fairy-tale life, however, crumbles around her as her family experiences financial difficulty. Jian Qing is now penniless and has no idea where to go or what to do. She’s in luck because fate is going to intervene in the most surprising way. Jian Qing meets Gu Nan Zhou (Chen Jing Ke), the CEO of a prosperous firm who also happens to have a crippling phobia of crowds, after following fate’s guidance. After accidentally being involved with Jian Qing, Nan Zhou finds himself in a precarious situation and understands that the only way for either of them to get out of it undamaged is to join a contractual marriage. Jian Qing and Nan Zhou agree that this is for the best and will soon start their new life as a married pair despite their less than friendly sentiments for one another. Jian Qing and Nan Zhou realized they were forced to accept their fate when their family unexpectedly agreed to the match. As they settle into married life, they see that their relationships with strangers gradually transform into friendships. Could this odd pair finally find love after such a difficult beginning? “Hello, Mr. Gu” is a 2021 romantic comedy drama directed by Tian Shao Bo that tells a joyful love story.

Star Power

Chen Jing Ke, who plays Gu Nan Zhou, and Yan Zhi Chao, who plays Zhou Jian Qing, form the main cast of the show and give average performances. Guo Yun Qi, who plays Zhou Zi Xuan, and Zhu Dan Ni, who plays Su You Xia, along with others, form the supporting cast and give good performances.

Overall Opinion

If you’re an avid fan of cliché Chinese dramas, then this could be next on your watchlist.
