Drama Digest

When a person is dead, they are either reborn or brought to numerous tiers of Heaven. They can progress through the levels by accumulating more points. Siu Yu, who is now on the 2nd level, is eager to reach the 3rd level in order to reconcile with her parents, who died when she was a youngster. To accomplish so, she works as a Life Manager, tasked with inflicting a particular amount of hardship on her client, Pak Ho. Pak Ho is a shy, nice young man who is tormented by his peers. Siu Yu is hesitant to complete her assignment due to her pity for her client, and instead finds herself assisting him.

The Feel-Good Part

Despite the fact that the drama is centered on romance, fantasy remains the central topic. Each character’s emotional past made it easy for me to become linked to them. The story regarding dimensions and “bringing disaster” struck me as very original. It was very intriguing. Not only the main characters’ stories piqued my interest, but so did the stories of the secondary characters. The connection progresses smoothly, with a well-handled fantasy element and a fantastic depiction of the imagined afterlife.

The Disappointing Factor

At first, certain scenes felt a touch slow and draggy. The kissing scenes between both the male and female leads were not very good, especially at the end when the female lead was about to leave the male lead for good; that was supposed to be a goodbye kiss filled with utmost grief, but it was just closed lips touching, no passion or despair, they were really just ‘acting,’ and I wasn’t moved at all. It demonstrates progress, although it can feel forced at times.

In-Depth Analysis

After dying in the real world, which is the 1st dimension, our Female Lead, Yu, arrives in the future 2nd dimension, which is like a first stage of the afterlife. She must work hard to get points in order to advance to the third dimension. She wants to go up swiftly to replace her parents, who died a long time ago. The task at hand is to provide either good fortune or bad fortune to the people in the human realm. Yu creates Pei-Ho, our Male Lead, for whom she is tasked with bringing a set amount of misery each day. She begins to feel sorry for him because he is poor and depressed, and she also discovers a means to meet him in person through PauPau. She develops feelings for him. However, things are not as they appear.

Star Power

Erica’s character, Yu (Female Lead), has a kind, gentle, and hopeful spirit. She has a big heart for the people around her. Her ambition is to travel to the third dimension with her parents. Hubert Wu’s Pei-Ho (Male Lead) is a kind-hearted yet melancholy individual in the human world. He’s destitute, and it doesn’t appear that luck is on his side. Mayanne Mak’s Pau-Pau (Second Lead Character) is a spirit from the second dimension who is also a great gourmand. She is fearless and unconcerned. Mark Ma’s Tino (Second Lead Character) is a cocky and carefree soul in the second dimension.

Overall Opinion

“Hello Missfortune” is a brief fairy drama with a love triangle-free romantic plot. The concept seemed to be unique, and the story was captivating. Suspense, romance, comedy, tragedy, and a startling amount of gore are all present in this film. In addition, the ending was rather realistic and fit well with the story’s conclusion.
