Drama Digest –

The Korean War broke on June 25, 1950. The U.S military sends planes as the Seventh Fleet enters the Taiwan Strait, with the motives of bombing mistakenly on the city of Andong, causing many innocent people to die, and get injured. The Chinese leaders had the determination to change the situation altogether. The Volunteer Army Command was formed months later, on Oct 25, 1950 and it had one of the bravest pioneers of the Chinese army like Peng Dehuai and Deng Hua. Fierce battles play on as new decades of peace are established in China.

The Feel-Good Part –

The series was very long and dragged for filling the void of connections made by the characters to the audience. It is no different than most shows being longer in the timeline, but this show took its time to connect as its storyline. Every time a new action scene would appear in the story, it would feel like an actual war happening. The accuracy of the war scenes they are shown playing is not up to the mark, it could’ve been shown much better. The parts lose the viewer’s interest due to the boring scenes and uninteresting scenes.

The Disappointing Factor –

The story revolves around the grave situation and the Chinese troops being made in an organisation and it somewhat ignores the other characters from the story. The main leads are highlighted the most and given the most screen time, which does no justice to the other main characters in the show. This type of content has already been made multiple times in the drama industry, so there is no uniqueness in the plotline. The main character is someone with a lot of energy and motivation and it could be difficult for common people to relate with him sometimes.

In-Depth Analysis –

The special effects added to the storyline are very well-executed. The character, Mao Zedong, trusts his army organization and has their pains and issues in their past. The gradual process of coming in terms of the situation is inspiring to watch. The blend between reality and fiction is rare to watch. No one expected the audience to see such a crossover and that makes the series even more special and unique. The plotline worked, and the compilation proved successful for such a space.

Star Power –

The characters were brilliantly made with the family dynamics, and the friendships formed with the central team and the rivals were also fantastic. The interactions were well made. The acting done by the characters showed its true colours, where the story is mainly based on the relation with reality and their members. Every character has its trauma, but they all focus on their responsibility, and the accompanying music playing in the background is very inspiring and exciting to watch.

Overall Opinion –

A war series takes the viewers to a fantastic experience. A worthwhile watch!
