1. BTS

One of South Korea's most well-known bands, BTS, has frequently represented the Korean music industry overseas. Apart from winning various prominent awards from the Korean music industry, the band have been nominated for international recognition and lists like the Grammys and Billboards. BTS and its members have collaborated with nearly 25 international artists. Their songs like My Universe with Cosplay, Boy with Luv with Halsey, IDOL with Nicki Minaj, Savage Love with Jason Derulo, Who with Lauv, Mic Drop with Steve Aoki are some of the most famous collaborations of all time.

 

2. Psy And Snoop Dogg

Psy is one of the most loved artists in South Korea, who have given the best hits of all time. The artist has collaborated with various K-pop idols including Suga of BTS in his 2022 release That-That. PSY is a renowned artist with his entertainment agency/ record label known as P Nation. PSY collaborated with sensational American rapper Snoop-Dogg in 2014 on the song ‘Hangover’ which comedically portrays the drinking, and singing culture in South Korea.

 

3. Blackpink

Blackpink is another very prominent Idol girl group in South Korea. Apart from the fantastic talent, the band has a vast number of fans following. The band has been recognized globally, with fans all over the world. The increasing popularity of the band has bought it to the attention of various astonishing artists who wanted to collaborate with the girls. Blackpink has collaborated with Selena Gomez on the song Ice-cream, Dua lipa on Kiss and Make-up, Sour Candy with Lady Gaga, and Cardi-B on Bet You Wanna. Lisa, one of the members of the Blackpink, has also collaborated solo with Megan Thee Stallion, Ozan, and DJ Snake on the song SXY Girl.

 

4. Hwasa And Dua Lipa

Hwasa is a member of the girl-group Mamamoo. The singer is popularly known for her enchanting vocals and bold looks. The singer has collaborated with various famous South-Korean artists like Loco, DPR LIVE, and Ja Mezz; the singer has also featured in more than 15 songs with prominent artists of the Korean industry. In 2019 Hwasa and Dua Lipa performed together on the songs New Rule and Don’t Start Now at the Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA), and in 2020 Hwasa was featured in Dua Lipa’s song Physical.

 

5. NCT-127 And Jason Derulo, Lay

NCT is a South-Korean boy band with four sub-units, NCT Dream, NCT-127, NCT U, and, WayV. NCT-127 collaborated with American singer Jason Derulo and Chinese singer and rapper Lay on their single released ‘Let’s Shut Up and Dance’ in 2019.

 

6. Red Velvet And Ellie Goulding, Diplo

Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group, consisting five members in it. Red Velvet has been listed as one of the most popular K-pop bands through Hollywood famous American entertainment magazines, the Billboard and Times. The band has enormous influence, and have a wide range of fan-following. The band also collaborated on the remix of ‘Close to me’ by Ellie Goulding and Diplo, released in 2019.

 

7. Monsta X

Monsta X is a prominent Korean boy band that debuted in 2015 with six members in total. The group is famous for their music style, as they incorporate styles like hip pop, pop, and EDM in their music. The band has been known for breaking gender norms and becoming the fourth generation of Korean pop music.  Monsta X has collaborated with several famous foreign artists and has blown their fans with their masterpieces. ‘Play it Cool’ with Steve Aoki, ‘Who Do U Love’ with French Montana, ‘How We Do’ with Snoop Dogg, Magnetic with Sebastian Yatra, and Beside U with Pitbull are the collaborations Monsta X did with international artists.

 

8. EXO’s Chanyeol

Park Chan-Yeol, popularly known as Chanyeol, is a member of the South Korean-Chinese boyband EXO. Chanyeol made his first solo international collaboration with American music Producer Marshmallow, Asian-American electronic, and hip-hop music band Far East Movement, and American singer Tinashe, in the song ‘Freal Luv’ released in 2016.

 

9. G-Dragon

G Dragon is a South-Korean singer, rapper, and songwriter, considered the King of Korean pop, and a member of BigBang retired boy band. G Dragon is the only solo artist to receive the 2013 MAMA artist of the year award; he is highly influential and famous for his work. G-dragon collaborated with famous American rapper and singer Missi Elliott in 2013 for the song Niliria.

 

10. JYJ And Kanye West

JYJ is a three-membered South Korean boy band. The popular band collaborated with Kanye West and Malik Yusef in their first single, Ayyy Girl, from their 2010 album The Beginning. The song peaked success in the Korean music industry as it reached 19th on the Gaon’s singles chart.
