2022’s SBS Drama Awards was hosted by Shin Dong Yup and actors, Kim Se Jong and Ahn Hyo Seop. SBS drams had high ratings and there was a tough fight for all the awards. With a huge variety of categories and different nominees, here are this year’s winners.
1. Kim Nam Gil
The Grand Prize or ‘Daesang’ of 2022 went to actor Kim Nam Gil, for his role in the drama, ‘Through the Darkness.’ He starred as a criminal profiler in the series. Kim Nam Gil had previously won a Daesang from SBS for ‘Fiery Priest.’
2. Namkoong Min
Namkoong Min played a justice seeking hero in ‘One Dollar Lawyer.’ He won the Director’s award for his role. The comic show was about a smart lawyer who charges only one dollar as his fee. But he has a sad past and a strong reason to only charge one dollar.
3. Seo Hyun Jin
Viewers will definitely agree that Seo Hyun Jin gave one of her best performances in ‘Why Her.’ She played a lawyer who only cares about success and is at a top position in her law firm. She received the Top Excellence Award for a genre/fantasy drama.
4. Huh Joon Ho
Huh Joon Ho played the antagonist in the legal drama ‘Why Her.’ He starred as the chairman of a law firm who is very powerful. Along with his co-star So Hyun Jin, Huh Jun Ho also won the Top Excellence Award in a genre/fantasy drama category.
5. Ahn Hyo Seop
‘Business Proposal’ was one of the most popular shows of 2022. Its lead actor Ahn Hyo Seop won the Top Excellence Award in a romance/comedy drama. He also won the best couple award with his co-star Kim Se Jong. Interestingly, they were also the hosts of the ceremony.
6. Kim Se Jong
Kim Se Jong received appreciation from viewers for her acting in ‘Business Proposal.’ Se Jong being awarded the Top Excellence Award in a romance/comedy drama proves this. She also won the best couple award with her co-star Ahn Hyo Seop.
7. Jin Seon Kyu
Jin Seon Kyu played the chief of the Behaviour Analysis Team in ‘Through the Darkness.’ He portrayed the realistic struggle of an officer who deals with crimes every day. He was awarded the excellence award in a genre/fantasy drama.
8. Gong Seung Yeon
‘First Responders’ is a drama about police officers and fire station officers who work together during emergencies. Gong Seung Yeon starred as an empathetic paramedic. She won the Excellence Award in a genre/fantasy drama category.
9. Kim Min Kyu
Kim Min Kyu played the chief secretary who falls in love with his boss’ date in ‘Business Proposal.’ He won the Excellence award in a romance/comedy drama category. He also won the Best Couple award with his co-star Seol In Ah. They are one of the most popular second lead couples.
10. Kim Ji Eun
Kim Ji Eun was nominated for the Excellence award for her dramas ‘Again My life,’ and ‘One Dollar Lawyer.’ She received the award for ‘One Dollar Lawyer’ in the romance/comedy drama category. She played a lawyer who is forced to work at a different place before joining her grandfather’s law firm.
