Article: Top 10 Villains In The Chinese Drama We Don’t Want To Talk About

Just imagine a story without a villain. I Know Right, it won't be that influential. There's not much spiciness, enjoyment, and no interest left. Every story needed a villain as necessary as a hero. And a villain is not a villain until they're not beyond evil, have no logic behind their motives, and are not pitiless. There is always a behind their wrongdoings; for power, love, or an internal struggle. There always seem to be assassins, murderers, and shady characters at China's imperial palace. They could be as manipulative as possible and capable of doing every sort of thing.  Here are the top 10 villains in the Chinese drama we don't want to talk about.

1. Hoifa-Nara Shushen\Consort Xian (Story Of Yanxi Palace)

The Story of Yanxi Palace received immense popularity and love from the audience and became a tremendous hit. And it's all because of the storyline and different shades of characters in the series. One such character was Hoifa-Nara Shushen, a cunning, deceitful persona who did master instigating a conflict between the mistresses while avoiding difficulty herself. At the beginning of the series, Xian used to be a kind person. However, once her mother and brother passed away due to unfair treatment and political conflicts, which in return enraged her and turned increasingly nasty. Consort Xian was one of the reasons behind the second son's murder of the Empress, which ultimately resulted in the Empress committing suicide.

2. Jin Yuyan (Ruyi’s Royal Love In The Palace)

Unlike the television series, Consort Jia was the one who engaged the audience. Jia Yuyan was known for pulling filthy tricks on people in the court. Don't be deceived by Jia's outward appearance; in the palace, she is one of the individuals with hidden layers of depravity. And to accomplish her objectives, she is the brains behind numerous shady strategies and absurd schemes.

3. Empress Ulanara Yixiu (Empress In The Palace: The Legend Of Zhen Huan)

In later episodes, when empress Ulanara feels challenged in her position in the palace, she begins showing her actual, shadier, and more sinister side. She even plans to kill her sister to succeed her and defend her position by eliminating several mistresses and their children. But in the end, the emperor locks her away for the remainder of her life after discovering her cunning and ruthless tactics; Empress Yixiu deserves every bit of it.

4. Niuhuru Yu-Yuet/Consort Yu (War And Beauty)

War and Beauty broke many records. And it won almost every award that came its way. Consort Yu would be that one significant character that everyone will remember. She appears very reasonable and savvy, but trust me; Yu is one of the most brutal characters you could see in the series and someone who could go to any length merely to save her place in the palace. No matter what, she always thinks about herself. But there's a point you could feel sympathy for her.

5. Yang Kang (Legend Of The Condor Heroes)

The audience always had these mixed feelings for Yang Kang from Legend of the Condor Heroes, whether to like him or dislike him the most. Merely to remain in power, he has done some terrible things which are hard to forget. Yang Kang didn't even hesitate and consented to backstab his nation and someone who always valued him for a position of power and material wealth.

6. Sui He (Ashes Of Love)

You become selfish and greedy in love, which Sui He showed us in Ashes of Love. She was responsible for the murder of the Water and Wind Immortal. Her main motive was love and to satisfy the Heavenly Empress. Sui did a lot of plotting and planning in the show, which was quite annoying. Yet, she was one of the most miserable characters in the series. Because the person she always loved never loved her back, and it caused her to act evilly.

7. Hua Fei / Nian Shilan (Empresses In The Palace)

Love can power destroy everything, and Nian Shilan proved this in Empresses in the Palace. She is nothing; but a cold, evil, and envious woman who is only after the emperor’s love. Hua Fei is prepared to eliminate the new concubines whenever the emperor becomes more intrigued by them. Hua and her family are one of the most influential in the series.

8. Zhou Zhiruo (Heavenly Sword And Dragon Slaying Sabre)

Fans had mixed feelings for Zhou Zhiruo from Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre. She murdered people for two reasons: first, she did it out of love, and second, someone else commanded her to do it. Because of the pressure Zhiruo was facing and was told to kill people and stuck between the people she loved. This struggle made her confused or enraged, and act wickedly. Even though the audience wanted to feel bad for her because of her actions, they couldn't.

9. Su Jin (Eternal Love)

It's not like we get what we always wanted. Life is not a fairytale. If you make others suffer in return, at some point, you've to suffer as well. You will eventually suffer if you cause other people to suffer. Enviousness made Su Jin commit sins. She was so jealous that she even seized Su Su's eyes and falsely charged her. Because of love, she was ready to do anything or destroy anyone.

10. Feng Manna (Rookie Agent Rouge)

Sometimes you can't help but feel pathetic for a character. One such character is the villain, Feng Manna, from Rookie Agent Rouge. She ended up becoming the most cunning and evil person. Feng subjected her friend, Yanzhi, who backstabbed her, to innumerable forms of abuse. Although her eagerness to abandon her homeland over a strained friendship made her a betrayer, on the other hand, we also have to take into account the fact that she has no other place to go.
