In Kamome Academy, Nene Yashiro is a first-year student who loves occult and believes in spirits. She has a crush on a popular student Teru Minamoto.
To bring Teru to fall in love with her, she summons a famous spirit Hanako san. The series is all about the incidents that occur after Hanako appears. In order to get him to fall for her, she calls for Hanako san, a popular spirit residing in the third stall in the third floor of the girl’s bathroom.
Hanako san is rumored to be a girl but in fact is a boy. Owing to the turn of events, Yashiro’s is bound to the spirit and helps him fight the evil spirits and also restore the balance between the human and spirt world.
During the course of the series, Hanako’s mysterious past is revealed and is Yashiro successful in her mission.

It is a cute anime series with sprinkles of fun. The mysterious past of the spirit towards the end is a surprise twist and also bittersweet. During the series, as an audience, one feels if humans and spirits can live harmoniously then why cannot humans and humans in the real world.
