Drama digest:

There is nothing more popular than pop culture nowadays. This series portrays the lives of Japanese pop trainees who want to become pop idols. This story is about four girls who plan on making it big in their respective industry.

The feel-good factor:

Music is the best part of this series. It’s a feel-good and deep feeling to it. It puts you in a good mood generally as it is an idol genre series, the best thing about it is watching the characters living their day-to-day lives and all the nuances around them. It is a relaxing, happy, and humor-filled series.

The disappointing factor:

The story suffers from a lack of character backstory. There is also no character development, and the story revolves around general incidents.

In-depth analysis:

Ino Sakura, an ordinary first-year high school student, has passed the audition and moved to Tokyo to join a pop group called Fruit tart. This group already has three members- Roko Sekino, a child actor; Hayu Nukui, a failed musician; and Nina Maehara, a model, still waiting for her first contract. As soon as they meet, they’re made to live in a dormitory with each other. Despite the differences among all four of them, they must survive dorm life and work hard at training at the same time. The name of their dormitory is ‘The mouse house.’ A few days later, when the girls finally start to settle in their new place of residence, they learn a shocking truth about their entertainment company. The truth is that their company, Fruit tart is under an enormous debt of one million yen and that the company hasn’t even started to pay it yet. This puts massive pressure on the four members, even giving rise to the possibility of them breaking up. To repay the debt, the girls work hard, write their songs, make their music, and make it to the top of the pop culture in Japan. While they’re working hard, they meet an ex-idol named Hemo Midori, who’s already a fan of Sakura’s work. She understands the situation of the members and decides to help them. All the members work hard and try to live their lives to the fullest daily.

Star power:

All the four members are stars of the show as they all have different stories. Even after coming from different backgrounds, all of them become successful. But a significant role in the story was played by the ex-idol Hemo, as she helps the girls a lot.

Overall opinion:

It’s a non-complex and not-so-deep storyline. So, it can only be watched for enjoyment and fun. In all, it’s a good show as it’s filled with light-hearted scenes.
