Tensura Nikki reports various humans and monsters in the journals of Rimuru in Tempest. Rimuru and his friends live in harmony and share the story of the canon, living without danger.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is easy to embellish with charming slates and good-natured humor. This show isn’t here to tell a complicated story or create character studies about its cast. Even when there is drama, it is almost always shown as light comedy rather than heavy emotion. The characters are lively, funny even with clingy “roles”, and fun even with cliché tricks.

The Disappointing Factors

The biggest disappointing factor of the show is that it is pointless because it doesn’t do anything. There is no character development and no story progression. The tempo is also a little slow.

Overall Opinion

Tensura Nikki: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, also known as The Slime Diaries, follows Rimuru’s reincarnation as a slime – a laugh-filled otherworldly life of familiar characters. The episodes may not be particularly memorable, but it’s fun to watch. Tempest’s characters are adorable, the animation has vivid colors, and a side story where you can relax and enjoy the growth. Most of the storyline happens in the base series, so it can feel slower than it should be for the average viewer. Overall, it’s a fun, easy-to-watch show.
