Drama Digest

The anime has been set in the future. The Japanese government is now ruled by an all-female party of words. Now all weapons are forbidden and against the law. Now, people fight against each other with Hypnosis Microphones by rapping. There are four major states among which the rap battle takes place and whoever wins gains the territory, and who loses the battle loses their territory.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is totally insane. Anything you need, you need to rap. Basically, the show aimed toward the HypMic crowd, and they did a fantastic job at that. Well, if you are not a HypMic fan, then also you can watch it.

Another thing that is worth praising in this show is the use of CG. They’ve done a fantastic job with the CG and 2D animation together. So, the animation is something you can look forward to because it is absolutely mind-blowing.

The Disappointing Factor

The show doesn’t have a story. Throughout the show, it’s just rap battles they are preparing for, and for at least the first five episodes, we have no idea where they are going with this one, and once we have a grip on whatever little bit of plot they give, it is all very rushed. The show basically lacks a storyline, and it feels like the writer didn’t put enough effort.

In-Depth Analysis

Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle – Rhyme Anima is a show about rap battles through HypMic. If you don’t know what HypMic is, then this show might not be for you. But you can always figure things out on the internet. It is a Spotify rap project where people are in groups and have different teams, and they compete with each other through rap battles.

So, in this anime, four teams compete with one another to win territories. And primarily, they can do anything by doing rap. As in the present time and normal world, people threaten each other with weapons; here, they do it with rap. There is nothing normal about this anime, which is the essence of it. If you are looking for logic while watching this show, you are probably watching the wrong show. You need to enjoy it, and if you are a rap fan just, go for it, you’ll at least get some cool music.

Star Power

The characters are very diverse. And you can actually differentiate each one of them with their hair color. As for voice acting, it is fantastic and the raps are also pretty incredible.

Overall Opinion

If you are a rap fan, and you know what HypMic is, then you can go with this one, but if not, you’ll find it a commotion and nothing more because it doesn’t have a deep story you can focus on or any other thing than music.
