Drama Digest

Fe’s Koroshi Ai is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by him. It has been serialized in Media Factory’s shojo manga magazine Monthly Comic Gene since October 2015 and has been collected in twelve tankobon volumes. Yen Press is the North American distributor of manga. Platinum Vision aired an anime television series adaptation from January to March 2022.

The Feel-Good Part

The phrase ‘if it’s too good to be true’ is commonly heard in the anime industry these days. With its enticing premise, Love of Kill appeared to be a show that looked promising at first glance. The premise, based on the manga of the same name, looks appealing because of the appeal of bounty hunting, assassination, espionage, and dealing with the criminal underground. In an era dominated by isekai, rom-com, and popular mainstream franchises, we don’t see these types of shows very often.

The Disappointing Factor

Behind the premise, characters, and overall ideas, we get one of the dullest and uninteresting shows of 2022. The terrible soundtrack is repeatedly replayed, there is a three-minute recap per episode, romance is non-existent, and it’s essentially just a stalker simulator with a bit of mystery, a bit of violence, and of course bishounen (josei anime).

In-Depth Analysis

Chateau Dankworth meets Song Ryang-ha, a professional hitman, on one of her bounty hunter operations and begins pursuing her and brokering her information in exchange for a date. Chateau, despite his reluctance, agrees but refuses to open up to him. Despite this, Ryang-ha continues to save her when she is attacked and appears to be aware of her past. After Donald Bachman targets both Chateau and Ryang-ha, the two are forced to confront their shared history: Chateau is the heir of the Nobel family, a lineage of French nobility, who is pursued by Nelson Nobel, her father’s stepbrother. The real Song Ryang-ha was commanded to accompany her to safety, but she mistakenly injures him with a fatal gunshot wound out of fear; in the meantime, the present Ryang-ha, a nameless victim of child trafficking saved by the real Ryang-ha, adopts his identity after the latter dies.

Star Power

Chateau Dankworth, a bounty hunter, and Song Ryang-ha, a professional hitman, meet coincidentally due to the vocations of their missions, and as assassins, they strive to eliminate the other in a quick and bloody action, which the latter wins. Chateau Dankworth, the female lead, has a simpler design. She resembles Saber from Fate in appearance, as well as being incredibly quiet, stoic, and cute, all the more so for not understanding or caring about romance.

Overall Opinion

It’s aimed more at adult women, notably the josei demographic. However, if a person like mystery, suspense, and drama, he or she can watch this show.
