Drama Digest

The rugby squad at Doshisha University is the focus of the narrative, with Natsusa Yuzuki serving as the protagonist and showcasing his unwavering passion for the game. When Natsusa has an accident that leaves him with a spinal hernia and renders him permanently unable to play, life takes on a completely new perspective. It transpires that he wasn’t the only victim of injury. Ibuki Ueoka leaves rugby as well, after blaming himself for the incident. When Natsusa persuades Ibuki to join the rugby squad and assist the players since he won’t be able to do it, the actual adventure begins. How will this agreement contribute to the drama?

The Feel-good part

Number24 is one of the most fun sports anime to watch. The animation is spot-on. Each character has a distinctively defined personality, which enhances the visual feast of the programme. The color palette of the entire show is quite bright and fun. The show takes over when Ibuki finally agrees to join the team. There is a lesson for every viewer in how the protagonist deals with adversity.

The characters are likable because they are all Bishounen and fairly diverse.

The Disappointing factor

Though the story starts with a bang, the plot twist is quite evident and predictable, leaving the audience with no room for curiosity. This show can be described as average in terms of “sports” anime. With the exception of the opening episodes, the entire series feels contrived. A more dramatic finale to the show may have been included in the story.

In-Depth Analysis

Along with his senior Ibuki, college student Natsusa gets injured in an accident that ends his rugby career and renders him permanently disabled. He chooses the next best thing and makes an effort to keep close to the sport since he is adamant about not losing out on his one true love, rugby. He takes on the role of manager, which is different from playing. Ibuki vows to Natsusa that he will never stop playing rugby and that he will keep doing so till he is happy.

The programme promotes a positive outlook, competitive spirit, teamwork, and camaraderie, giving viewers something to remember.

Star Power

The main character, Natsusa, is elaborate and altered with a distinct personality and is totally dedicated to his sport, rugby. It is intriguing to see the character undergoing positive development and growth throughout the show. All the other characters have equally balanced out the show, making an equal impact in their own ways.

Overall Opinion

This is a lightweight, fun anime to watch focusing on the player’s mindset. It is a pleasant piece of visual pleasure with some humor to take home.
