Movie Digest

Four, young travelers embark on a museum trip in West Thailand. On reaching the museum, they find out that it is closed for renovation. They wile away time indulging in other things. This past time is the basis of the movie.

The Feel Good Part

The movie is shot in black and white which is a refreshing change. The visuals and sound capturing the scenic natural beauty, where the movie is set is marvelous. The enactment of some of the scenes in the raft is mind blowing.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie is an experimental drama, and is not for the common person. In addition, the parallel story lines get confusing, and it requires a lot of attention so as to not lose the essence of the story lines.

In-Depth Analysis

Four, young friends set out to visit the memorial site called “Death Railway” built to honor war prisoners who lost their lives in Western Thailand. Unfortunately, the museum is closed for renovation, and so the four spend their time on a rented raft wherein they spend time, smoking, drinking, and having a good time. Simultaneously, a woman, their age is lost in the forest after her friend vanishes into thin air.

The viewer realizes that the protagonists are theatre actors performing scenes from a play and each piece is a hero in itself.

Star Power

In experimental theatre, the performances are the stars and not the actors. In this movie, each performance is note-worthy, one cannot judge as it is theatre coming alive.

Overall Opinion

For fans of experimental theatre, the movie Come Here is recommended even though it gets a bit stark at times.
