Movie digest

Mira has been living in Paris for around two decades, and now, she is in her late 40s. She decides to visit South Korea after divorcing her French husband to meet her old friends, Young Eun and Sung Woo. She was having a cheerful time at the bar. Mira uses the restroom, and upon returning, finds out the time has reversed back to 19 years ago. The day where she returned was the day of her farewell party before she left for France.

The feel-good part

The film had an excellent concept. They mainly had dark themes that were illustrated mannerly.

The disappointing factor

The film was a confusing mess. It could have been explained in a better way. The cinematography looked cheap that and the movie looked low-budget.

In-depth analysis

Korean Cinema introduced another time-based film. I was expecting much from the movie, but it was disappointing. The cinematography was poor. The story was hard to follow. A Korean woman living in France experienced a time slip when she went to Korea to meet her friends. There was nothing much going on, just a bunch of people sitting in the same bar and talking at different points in their lives. There was a cache for more things along the lines of back to the past but it failed at everything. There were no real-world repercussions of things that happened in the movie. The movie didn’t have enough potential to hold back the audience. It’s just a dark room, bar scenes getting darker, and lights flicking in bathrooms. The movie was like peeping into a teenager’s diary. There was no alterity, nothing interesting.

 Star power

The actors did well what was appointed to them. The acting was up to the level of the script. Kim Ho Jung was appreciable as the lead actress, and did her best to make the movie fabulous. The supporting cast was decent too.

Overall opinion

A French woman is a decent movie to watch. It followed a sequence of surreal scenes that hit the viewers with an unexpected realistic message. The movie is good to watch.
