Movie Digest

The story starts with Mikito Tsurugi, a young youth who fails to enter a university. He has no girlfriend, no money, and no prospects of success. His life has reached rock bottom, and there is nothing left that could make him happy. One day, he watches Aya Matsuura, a pop model’s music video, and becomes fascinated and obsessed by the idols from Hello! Project. Soon he adapts himself to an idol geek lifestyle. He gets his apartment plastered with idol memorabilia. Eventually, he formed a band, Renai Kenkyukai, with some distinctive people he met at an idol event. They spend days working on their music as a band, performing at talk events, and appearing at a campus festival to raise awareness about Hello. Straightforwardly, Tsurugi enjoys reliving his youth to the fullest. However, the more significant test comes from time itself. Time has its plans. With time, the band members indulged in other works and ultimately drifted apart. Will Mikito Tsurugi ever meet them again? Will the band reunite? Watch the drama to see how the story proceeds with its twists and turns.

The Feel Good Part

The movie is pretty decent to watch. The subplots are decently engaging. A few years later, the film finds the band group members scattered and moving on with their lives, only to be back together when one of their members falls mortally ill with Cancer. Them getting back after years adds an emotional touch. The viewer will not get bored while watching it. There is a good mixture of music and drama. The movie is highly music-centric and perfectly plotted in an exaggerated drama.

The Disappointing Part

Despite the performer’s efforts, they register as archetypes rather than fully rounded characters.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama is mainly about how time flies, and with time, everything changes. Nothing stays the same. It is evident when Mikoto realizes that the second adolescence he had been enjoying will not last forever. But even though the group drifts apart, it is time only to reunite them on a shared path again.

Star Power

The actors are the star power of the show. Tori Matsuzaka has undoubtedly won our hearts with his performance. Other characters have also given a fantastic performances. They all lived their parts in the movie. They portrayed every emotion very carefully and precisely perfectly.

Overall Opinion

The drama is a sweet package of success, failure, love and friendship, betrayals, and a final reunion. If someone is interested in watching a youth drama, it’s a must-watch movie.
