Drama Digest

A world which is dominated by monsters such as Goblins. Although the Goblins are not one of the sharpest tools in the shed, they are certainly vile and vicious creatures. A young priestess takes it upon herself to train alongside a group of fighters to rid the land of the threat imposed by the Goblins as the people live in fear for their lives. Goblin Slayer is one such adventurer. Why are these fighters killing Goblins? Do they have a personal grudge? You might learn through the course of the movie. As the story unfolds; we see the Goblin Slayer and the Priestess join a group of other adventures such as an Elf girl, a Dragon, and a Spell Caster. At first, we see the Goblin Slayer is focused on nothing other than killing the Goblins as he ruthlessly murders them. But he becomes capable of keeping the others safe while they battle with the enemies.

The Feel Good Part

The pacing of the movie is well maintained. It does not get boring at any point. The story is intriguing for adventure and action lovers alike. Friendship is the central theme. The fighters were together through thick and thin. It sheds light on the importance of leadership. It also stresses that every group member contributes towards something to reach the final goal. The once helpless Priestess registers some growth in character as she can aid others in the fight with spells.

The Disappointing Part

Trigger warning: sexual assault, rape and torture. It might unsettle some. At times it felt like too much was happening, and it became confusing. There are no background stories of all of the characters. We learn about them in the passing. The ways the Goblins were adapting could have been more touched on.

In-Depth Analysis

The movie is essentially the quest of the Demon Slayer with a group of adventures to rescue a Royal Fencer from the Goblins. They can take down the Goblin Paladin. But the problem is not resolved yet. There are more Goblins left to fight.

Star Power

The actors played their parts well. We see growth in the character of the Priestess, which proves that it was well portrayed as she grows from the naïve girl who almost got killed to an essential part of the group. It looks like the Goblin Slayer cares for nothing other than killing the goblins, but we are proven wrong. He is just awkward around huge groups.

Overall Opinion

It is worth watching but be warned of the gore and trigger warning as stated above. The fans of action can anticipate a nice ride. We see the trauma of the tragic past play on the characters. At times they derive motivation from their past experiences. There is perfect chemistry between this group of adventurers as they are focused on their path of killing the monsters. The Goblin Slayer catches on quickly that the Goblins aren’t dumb enough and killed easily. They are copying their opponents and evolving.
