Drama digest:

Not-so-popular scriptwriter Gota is facing problems in his professional life but also his personal life. He has been married to Chika for ten years now and has a daughter named Aki. Things may look good on the surface but, they aren’t. Chika and Gota are not romantically involved with each other there’s a distance that has come in between them and won’t dissolve. Chika is disinterested in her husband and has built walls around her so he can’t reach her. No matter how Gota tries to solve the problems and fix his married life, Chika looks down upon him for not being able to earn money and be a successful scriptwriter. One lucky day Gota comes across an opportunity to write a script in Kagawa Prefecture. He convinces Chika and Aki to come along with him on his short trip to Kagawa, with the hopes of things getting better. But, fate sure has its plan because poor Gota falls on his face because of an unexpected case.

The feel-good part:

Gota trying to fix his marriage and Chika trying to be a rational person would be the most promising part. And not to forget their daughter who brings happiness to their faces. Even if they face problems in their marriage they try to shield and love their daughter unconditionally.

The disappointing factor:

The only thing with which the audience does not feel connected is towards movie’s climax. And not to forget, the scenes might get up a bit heated with the fantasies of Gota and Chika, who have lost faith in their relationship but still fantasizes and craves intimacy.

In-depth analysis:

The movie is a satire of society showing the vulnerability and vulgarity that a relationship can hold. This serves the platter of imbalance a marriage grows if both the cohabiters don’t follow each other. It brings to light the failure of marriage on different levels. We must have seen or maybe would have to experienced the type of emotion Gota and Chika shared.

Star power:

Along with Hamada Gaku and Mizukawa  Asami’s performance, little Aki, played by Niitsu Chise, has everyone glued to the screen. And not to forget she is the glue to the relationship between  Gota and Chik too. To steal the show amidst such experienced actors is quite tricky and, Niitse has done the job very well.

Overall opinion:

From the plot to the characterization is very ordinary, yet to portray such things in such a speedy manner is not that easy as well. The movie is like a dose of much-needed reality which we don’t let to sink in our relationships. It will make you realize and question the things going around you.
