Movie Digest

Xiaoxue has been looking for her five-year-old pet tiger Nana, whom she regards as a daughter, for a week after the zoo where she worked as an animal keeper closed down. She believes the man who kidnapped Nana is a local superstar named Liu Shenqi. Xiaoxue begs the help of a group of people who recently established Yang Guang Pet Search — tomboy Yang Guang, youthful inventor Wang Yuan, and robber Yishou. They work together to pull a heist to save Nana.

The Feel-Good Part

The cinematography in this film is in the style of a children’s tale, which makes it a little interesting to watch.

The Disappointing Factor

The work on CGI is poor, and there was not any blending with the background. You can notice the differences between real and fake. There is no clear-cut narrative to this film.

In-Depth Analysis

Tiger Robbers is the first Chinese film adaptation of an Isaka work. This film is a lighthearted, manga-style comedy with exaggerated characters, vibrant locations, and witty dialogue. They focused on the visual aspect of the film, where the narrative was out of focus. The explanation of the relationship between characters is not adequate. The film brings in a lot of themes, but everything gets messy and lost. This film did not capture the essence of the story. The underlying flaw with “Tiger Robbers” is that it lacks a compelling emotional and value core that can reach the audience’s hearts.

Star Power

The film had powerful casting, but their acting was not up to expectation. Song Jia (Xiaoxue) and Ma Li (Yang Guang) did a decent job. They made the movie good enough to watch.

Overall Opinion

It is not an impressive film. But if you are looking for a meaningless, time pass film to watch, this would work well.
