This Documentary is China’s first documentary on a peacekeeping in South Sudan. These soldiers wear blue helmets so they are affectionately called “Chinese blue helmets”. They are the Chinese armed forces on peacekeeping mission in the overseas warzone. In the past 30 years, 16 soldiers sacrificed their lives for the mission of peace and in past 30 years they joined 25 UN operations with over 40,000 soldiers.

The Feel-Good Part

The way they protect the refugee camps by doing their best even if it means losing their life is really inspiring to watch.

The Disappointing Factor

Many of them lose their lives and get heavily injured while protecting others in midst of the explosions. This is very heart-breaking to watch.

In-Depth Analysis

Since 1990 china has been sending its soldiers for UN peacekeeping missions. The peacekeeper’s job is to protect the refugee camp and maintain peace. These soldiers wear blue helmets so they are affectionately called “Chinese blue helmets”. They will not leave the place unless they get the order to retreat. They risk their lives in order to maintain peace. There are many who sacrificed their lives to protect the people and their subordinates during the explosions. In the documentary, we can see a soldier who lost his life but he still kept holding on to his gun.

This documentary is directed by Xin Lu and De Xin Zhou who did a good job of portraying the hard work of the soldiers.

Overall Opinion

It takes a lot of courage to put your life on line and protect others to maintain peace. This documentary is very inspiring and we can see how hard the soldiers work to maintain peace.
