Jujutsu Kiasen 0 is another action-filled masterpiece animation with a spoonful of adventure, comedy, fantasy, horror, and thriller. Directed by Sunghoo Park and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd., the movie is based on the popular and widely acclaimed manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. Illustrated and written by both Gege Akutami, the manga series sold over 1.6 million copies between November 2020 and May 2021. It additionally sold another 1.9 million copies, ranking in the top sellers’ list as the fifth-best-selling manga.
The Feel-Good Part
At the end of the anime series, the creators leave clues regarding the coming of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Before its release, the movie director also hinted at the new tweaks and exclusive content that is not present either in the manga or the anime adaptation. Considering the intricate artwork in the manga that beautifully captures the complexities and emotions of its characters, the movie takes a step further to bring it into life before the audience. Not just limited to the storyline, but the execution of the fight scenes on screen also adds to the adaptaion’s overall elegance.
The Disappointing Factor
With a running time of 105 minutes, the movie secured $172.19 million at the box office, fulfilling the expected eagerness of the viewers. However, the fans still hope for the past story of Yuuta to be covered as an anime series, giving more space to the editor to present in the series. Although the standalone movie exceeds the anticipation, a 12 episode-long series with 24-minute animation is preferred by a lot.
In-Depth Analysis
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 serves as an artful prequel to the anime series, talking about the backstory of one of his signature characters – Okkustu Yuuta. The boy is a sixteen-year-old shy high school student with a hesitant personality who longs for the companionship of his dear childhood friend Orimoto Rika. Having been together and each other’s back for as long as they can remember. It becomes difficult for Yuuta to help control Rika her powers. It was Rika with her spiritual powers, helping with all her might for his protection whenever Yuuta fell into trouble or on the radar of the bullies. Yuuta shakes hands with Saturo Gojuo, Jujutsu sorcerer, and joins Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School to learn the art of swordsmanship and various spiritual skills. He spends months vigorously training to perfect his skills to hone the ritual of exorcising evil spirits from his dear love, Rika.

The cast includes a wide range of versatile voice actors, mainly Ogata Megumi as Okkotsu Yuuta, Nakamura Yuuichi as Gojou Satoru, Seki Tomokazu as Panda, Uchiyama Kouki as Inumaki Toge, Tsuda Kenjirou as Nanami Keto, Komatsu Mikako as Zehin Maki, Kimura Subaru as Toudou Aoi, Akasaki Chinatsu as Miwa Kasumi, Sakurai Takahiro as Getou Suguru, Inoue Marina as Zenin Mai.

The film does not require prior knowledge of the series and anyone with a desire to spend a hearty evening can delight themselves with Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
