Movie Digest

The movie is about the Taoist Master (as the movie title suggests) and three of his students who use medical knowledge and science to fight superstitions and supernatural.

The Feel Good Part

At the start of the movie, the introduction to the Taoist Priest and some of their fights with the vampires or supernatural characters are a combination of fun and action. The movie’s stunts and action are very good just like the martial art movies

The Disappointing Factor

The performances of the main leads feel a bit insipid and uninspired. In addition, the story line is repetitive and gets a bit dreary. The comedy also makes us wince as it is not very funny.

In-Depth Analysis

The movie is all about the Taoist Priest and three of his students use the knowledge of medicine and science to fight fallacies and the paranormal.

During the course of their fight, they clash with the Ghost King and his bandits trying to take over their town of Meng Zhui. Using a mix of their knowledge and martial arts, the movie focuses on the battle between the two groups, and in the end, the Priest and his students emerge victorious.

Star Power

The movie is filled with stars whether they are protagonists or antagonists. The Taoist Priest is played by the veteran actor Chin Siu Ho and pitted against him is another expert actor Norman Chui as the Ghost King. The support cast is also brilliant especially Ariel Ahn Wui as Jade Phoenix.

Overall Opinion

If you like horror comedy and the paranormal then this movie is for you although at times the scenes tend to be a bit repetitive.
