There is a town which constantly suffers due to the attacks of the demons. In order to deal with these demons, Wu Jingzi sends an invite to exorcists here to help drive them and restore peace in the land. Thus, several exorcists gather at the cloud cave to drive away the demons. These exorcists include Shi, Meng Zhu, Bu Wei Long, the man who loves Meng Zhu, and several others. As they embark on the journey, they face several difficulties in battling the demons in the cloud cave and also run into many different kinds of demons. But the result out of all their battles is quite unexpected.
The Feel-Good Part
The movie makes sure that it remains within the purview of the story and does not go off track because fantasy movies tend to do it while showing the backstory of the whole incident. The movie is well paced and thought out. The casting is good and their acting adds value to their characters and the story line. The movie is filled with action scenes that viewers will definitely enjoy watching.
The Disappointing Factor
The movie does not have much depth in the story, which might make viewers lose interest in the movie. Movies tend to be a source of excitement, but the action scenes fail to deliver and, as a result, these seem like randomly directed action scenes. Compared to other Chinese action and fantasy-based movies, this seems on a sub-par level. In addition to that, the songs feel misplaced and there could be some better choices in this regard.
In-Depth Analysis
A village endures chronic hardship. These hardships are all because of the attacks of demons, which happen regularly, disturbing all the peace in the land. Wu Jingzi invites exorcists to assist in driving these demons and provide calm to the region in order to deal with them. To expel the demons, several exorcists assemble in the cloud cave. Shi, Meng Zhu, Bu Wei Long, the lover of Meng Zhu, and a number of others are among these exorcists. They encounter several challenges fighting the demons in the cloud cave as they set off on their trip, as well as many other varieties of demons. However, the outcome of all of their conflicts is extremely surprising.
Star Power
Zhou Jing as Meng Zhu, Liu Yi Tong as Lin Yue, Li Cen Yi as Bu Wei Long, and Chen Duo Yias as Guo Guo give a wonderful performance. They extract the story to a great extent and place it before the viewers through their phenomenal acting and delivery of dialogues, and they seem like a perfect match for their roles.
