“All About My Mother” is the Chinese version of a Korean drama. Peizhen Li is the center of her family. She patiently takes care of everything. Their seemingly perfect family falls into chaos. Her daughter Xiaomei Li faces problems as she tries to be independent of her mother. Her husband cannot work as a doctor due to malpractice. Her mother-in-law needs constant care because of her Alzheimer’s disease. She retires from her teaching job but becomes devastated, finding that she has only four months to live.

The Feel-Good Part

The way Peizhen takes care of her family is very heart-warming. This film is very emotional and touching.

The Disappointing Factor

It has a few flaws, but they can be ignored while being caught up in emotions. It makes you feel overly dramatic at times. It is not emotional as the original.

In-Depth Analysis

Peizhen Li is like an ideal mother who takes good care of her family despite the humiliation. Her daughter Xiaomei suffocates when she is with her mother as she is always dependent on her. Xiaomei moves to Beijing to escape this, but her life turns into hell as she hates her job and is in a relationship with no future. A sudden visit from her mother helps Xioamei discover that everything about her mother is not simple as she thought. This film is an emotional rollercoaster. It induces various feelings like fear of death, sadness, and separation. This is a family-themed film that gives you a good cry.

Star Power

Xu Fan did an excellent job as Peizhen, along with Zhang Jing Yi and Xu Ya Jun. They presented their characters while excellently bringing out the emotions.

Overall Opinion

Overall, this film is decent, and it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. The bond between Peizhen and her family is very touching. It is a sad and moving film and is worth watching.
