The Scent of Love/ กลิ่นของความรัก/ Scent of Love the Series is a Thai drama series that came out on the television screens on the 1st of February, 2022, to the 14th of February, 2022. Executed under the direction of Mith Bangkok and produced by Flat11Film, the short-length series focuses on the bond of Pete and Bas, who currently attend high school. Each segment spreads over four minutes, with a total of three episodes.
The Feel-Good Part
The story opens with the two facing each other without the treasured knowledge that the two have a mutual crush on each other. As the story progresses, we learn about the misunderstandings and complexities in their life. It is only till last that we see the characters being honest with their souls and confessing in front of each other. Through Pete and Bas, we gain awareness about the possibility of queer relationships in a high school setting.
The Disappointing Factor
Fans have complained about a lack of structural plot, as it lacks the integral element that holds a story together. Although the chemistry between the stars is a delight to the viewers, Bas’s unruly, rash behavior seems unexplainable at the beginning of the episode, considering his crush on Pete.
In-Depth Analysis
Fans have expressed their love for a series this short to be this sweet. Although the mini-series only stretches up to four minutes, it does its best to portray the charm of LGBTQIA+ relationships. Moreover, one of the many things one falls in love with is the original music, set perfectly with the background.
Star Power
For the drama to be hit and settle into the viewers’ hearts, the casting directors chose some eye candy for us. The cast includes Earth Teerapat Ruangritkul as Pete and Fluk Chatchawan Jitraxtham Bas. The two work to their greatest strength to bring the wanted chemistry to life.
