Drama digest

This is a Thai Rom-Com drama featuring the love story between the two leads among whom the female lead disguises herself as somebody else. This is their story of falling in love despite everything that happens.

The feel-good part

The humour of the show is its best feature. Though the story is not a unique one, it’s humour carries is throughout and gives it a rewatch value. The chemistry between the leads is an exciting one and there are a lot of cute moments of them together. The show is a perfect blend of sweetness, silliness, goofy moments, romance and comedy.

The disappointing factor

Even though the show never aims at it, it takes a dig on the skin colour ‘black.’ Lomdao is a beautiful woman but in order to disguise herself she does her makeover as a darker-skinned woman in order to call herself ‘ugly.’ It’s not said in words on the show but it has been prorated nevertheless.

In-depth analysis

The story is a common Thai romance. The families of both the leads are close family friends. But the irony is that the two people, the boy and the girl have never met each other. The male lead’s name is Param and the female lead’s name is Lomdao. The main problem is that their families have already arranged their marriage without their consent. While, Param agrees to the marriage, Lomdao refuses to accept the marriage proposal. She’s of the opinion that she can’t marry somebody she doesn’t even know and has never met. But despite her refusal, her parents are adamant on getting her married to Param. Due to all this and seeing no way out of this marriage deal, Dao devises a plan. She decides to disguise herself as a less attractive-looking cook at Param’s house. Both of their families were rich and economically stable. But she had heard rumours about Param’s family being not as rich as they say. So she aims at finding out the entire truth of Param and his family. She starts working as ‘Faidam’ at Param’s house. She starts working as a chef. A lot of banters happen between her and Param that are interesting and hilarious to watch. Soon after, everyone in Param’s family recognises Faidam as Lomdao. But during all this process, Dao and Param fall in love and both agree on marrying each other atlas.

Star power

The female lead of the series, Lomdao or Faidam, portrayed by Namfah Thunyaphat, is the show’s star due to the dual personality she has portrayed.

Overall opinion

The series is somewhat stereotypical yet cute in every sense. It is a sweet take on whatever the show has tried to show.
