“Love of Secret” is a 2022 Thai drama written by Patty Phatphatson Warissaraphuricha and directed by Macky Suthasit Pojthasak. This is another Thai drama that supports the LGBTQ community and gay relationships.
The Feel-Good Part
This show perfectly executes the theme of GL and serves us with cute and heartwarming moments. The relationship between Punpun and Aitim is sweet and they are supportive of each other throughout the challenging moments. Their chemistry is realistic and their characters are shown as mature. The advice given by her grandma makes the ending special. The OST and all the background music fit the story perfectly, leaving us with a heartwarming impression.
The Disappointing Factor
The only disappointing factor about the show is the length of the show. There is enough content in the story to form a series, but they split the movie into two episodes of 45 minutes each.
In-Depth Analysis
The story revolves around Punpun, who is a medical student. Although a different stream, she dreams of becoming an idol. But she is bound to hide it, as it is about their prestige because her father is a surgeon. Her father, Phuri, wants his daughter to be a doctor like him. Other than that, Punpun is also hiding her relationship with Aitim, her girlfriend and best friend. It shows her struggles as she maintains her relationship, her studies, and her family status altogether.
Star Power
The two lead characters of Punpun and Aitim are played by Houng Nattawadee Pipobpornchai and Neen Sukontharath. They were adorable in the show and provided fantastic chemistry and support through their characters. Another praiseworthy character is Punpun’s grandma, played by Nui Suporn Sangkaphibal, who delivers an important message at the end.
Overall Opinion
This show is a perfect mainstream media representation of GL drama. There are only a few representations of women-love-women relationships in present-day dramas. This is one of those exceptions that will set a new example by providing us with a fantastic story. For those who enjoy GL dramas and want more recommendations, this is a perfect choice. It is worth the investment.
