Drama digest

This is a K-drama portraying the ordinary love story of two people, Han Ji Yool and Ahn Ja Young, who return to their respective village after certain circumstances make them.

The Feel-good part

The rural feel of the drama is a calming vibe. The cute moments between both the leads steal our hearts. The fact that the leads were childhood friends adds to the sweetness of the show. The show though cliché, has an undeniable charm and happy tone to it. The portrayal of animals adds to the sweetness.

The disappointing factor

The entire story is an ordinary and cliché one. The trope of adding ex-lovers into the show is the one annoying thing of the drama.

In-depth analysis

The male lead of the drama, Han Ji Yool, is a city boy. He grew up in a village called ‘Heedong village’ but shifted to the city after completing his education as a doctor. He’s a veterinarian because he’s always loved animals. One day, he receives a call from his grandfather, who resides in the village. The call does not seem normal to Jiyool because of the serious tone of his grandpa. Grandpa tells Jiyool to rush to their village as soon as possible as he has something important to tell him. Jiyool rushes to the Heedong village upon hearing this. As soon as he reaches his village home, he finds a note from his grandpa. The content of the note was that his grandpa had gone on a Europe tour and will be back only after half a year. So, his grandpa had asked him to look after the animal clinic he ran in the village. Confused at first, Jiyool agrees to it and starts looking after his grandpa’s clinic. There he ends up meeting a female cop, Ahn Ja Young. Jayoung resides in a city too, but is back to the village where she was raised. She was so dedicated to her village that she became a police officer so that she could help the people of her village. She and Jiyool knew each other since they were children but could not remember anything. They soon become friends again, and start helping each other and everyone in the village together. The story also has a third lead in the form of Lee Sang Hyun, who is in love with the female lead. He’s a bit immature and his passive-aggressive behaviour towards the male lead is annoying. In the end, it’s the story of Jiyool and Jayoung figuring out their love life as well as the village life.

 Star power

It is hard to point out a particular star in the show as the show was pretty good as a whole.

 Overall opinion

Though the story is a pretty ordinary one, the series succeeds in being a feel-good series. The setup, the editing, the chemistry, etc everything add to the series’s charm. Overall, all this made the series a great one.
