Movie Digest

This is a mini-drama series that initially starts off as a cheesy romance but later delves into the darker side of school bullying that is prevalent in South Korea and has claimed a number of lives of students who were victims of this crime. It’s a story that involves a high school teen who dreams about being in a relationship and falls for a boy, and a male protagonist who is involved in school violence.

The Feel Good Part

Choi Youngjae really amped up the level of performance in this series and made it worth a watch. Ye bin his co-star and the female protagonist have done a marvelous job as well, the chemistry is very natural and easy between the two of them. Apart from the technical aspect, the drama also scores high because of the way the characters were fleshed out and written. It gives a false hope at first making it seem like a cheesy rom-com but quickly shows that it is more than that. the drama length is short and can be binged within 1 day so there is that. the plot was captivating and unique in how it showed the impact of bullying and youth struggles in the real world. Part of its appeal is that this could be happening with you or someone you know and the drama wastes no time in delving into the deeper parts of school violence.

The Disappointing Factor

Some of the scenes in the webtoon and the drama were changed or slightly altered. For example, when the female protagonist meets the male protagonist for the first time she is flustered in the drama, but in the webtoon, they both hold eye contact for a few seconds. Too fast paced i=this could have been a regular length kdrama.

 In-Depth Analysis

When the female protagonist understands that her potential love interest has been the victim of school violence, she wonders if she will be able to overcome this hurdle along with him in their relationship. the drama is sensitive to the painful details involved in the bullying of the male protagonist and at times it is difficult to even come to terms with what he went through as a viewer. It’s a short drama of under 20 minutes per episode duration. It’s a heavy dose of what is happening in real life when school violence is perpetrated. The siblings of the Female protagonist are also very supportive of her. It’s very short in terms of duration of time. Some of the plot points were simply glossed over and this series leaves the viewers wishing for more. However, the acting and the plot were very good, Choi Youngjae has proven himself and his mettle in acting with this drama.

Star Power

Choi Youngjae and Choi ye bin are the main leads in this drama. The former is a part of GOT7, a kpop group that has flourished for over 9 years in the industry presently. He also is a rookie actor with only 3 dramas under his belt and has already proven his mettle in acting. Choi Yebin is recognized for her work in the hit series the Penthouse. This drama and the series of Penthouse are some of her phenomenal works in the industry as an actor. There is also a supporting actor Yoo Jae Sang- who has mainly remained a supporting cast in most of the dramas that he has worked in.

Overall Opinion

A good drama to watch on a slow evening, even better if you have already read the webtoon this was adapted from by the same name. the acting and the plot were top-notch for a mini-series. There is a plot twist and time leap sequence in this series overall I would recommend this series if you are a fan of the drama and romance genre.
