Drama Digest

The drama is a life story, depicted and narrated by Bu Jeong. She is a 40-year-old lady who is a ghostwriter. Her work is published under others’ names which continuously upset her. She has witnessed a harsh and brutal life. She has lost so many things in life, which has made her a very negative-thought person who wants to give up on everything. She lost her excellent stable job due to the unfairness she received. She also lost her first child due to miscarriage and, almost every day, receives extremely negative judgments from the people around her. She is married to Jung-soo, who works in a department store. But Bu Jeong is not happy with her marriage either, as she can’t seem to trust and find happiness in her husband. Another main lead of the story, we have Lee Kang-Jae, a 27-year-old who has been facing troubles since birth. He is the owner of a service company that hires people and asks them to do the jobs requested by his clients. He dreams of becoming a rich guy with a successful business as he comes from a low-income family. He stays anxious as he acknowledges that it is the end of his youth, and he still hasn’t been able to do much. He also has lost his best friend due to suicide, who left without delivering any message. The two meet and discover a bond they have never felt before. Despite the age differences and experiences, they could bond well.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is probably one of the most underrated Korean dramas out there. The story deals with the reality that most people live with but never show to others. It has a very unique and strong storyline. The show isn’t really for everyone but just for a few who can understand and feel the struggles of Bu Jeong.

The Disappointing Factor

The story goes on very slowly and has slow developments within the plot and the characters.

In-Depth Analysis

The meeting of Bu Jeong and Kang-Jae was exceptional. The two had quite a different life but could easily understand and relate to each other’s emotions. They had a firm understanding as both have suffered through a lot. They grew a kind of bond that was not easy to depict. They had a complex bond that healed their inner wounds. And not just their emotional setbacks, the story also involves an unraveling mystery when Kang-Jae discovers that Bu Jeong was indirectly connected with his best friend’s suicide. The story is not just about their relationships but also involves Bu Jeong’s husband, who reunited with his first love and could feel his feelings have a comeback. The story had a mix of emotions and gave the viewers an emotional roller coaster ride. The multiple stories and emotions provided us with various perspectives. Not all the viewers could understand and depict the messages that the story delivered. As a typical community, we are expected to be perfect in everything. Whereas we barely get a glimpse of happy relationships and promising careers. That is what the story provided us. The cinematography, the graphic details, the editing, etc. was outstanding. The execution was well done too!

Star Power

The cast did an outstanding job with their performances. They made the viewers feel their emotions and feelings too deeply and made us relate with them. Ryu Jun-Yeol played Kang-Jae, and Jeon Do-Yeon played Bu Jeong. They did exceptionally tremendous, and their performances were phenomenal.

Overall Opinion

The show was superb and is very under-rated. A must-watch for all Korean drama lovers!
