Drama Digest

The tale follows a Vampire named Ji Han who must deal with an immoral businessman on the hunt for immortality. There are three immortal creatures on the earth and one of them is in South Korea. So, this hunter has his eyes and ears already in Korea whose name is ‘Yu Ri’. She keeps on updating him and is all set for the hunt of our dear vampire (Ji Han). The sci-fi supernatural series has a total of six episodes of around twenty minutes each. It was released on 30th October 2020.

The Feel-Good Part

The cute casting is attractive. But the focus on gay romance is something appreciative. Everyone does their job very well.

The Disappointing Factor

‘Jay’ (played by Kim Dan) introduces the series as a news anchor at the start of the first episode. Not only does she have to anchor at the start of each episode, but every character does as well, which is absurd.

In-depth Analysis

The language used in the series is a mix of English and Korean and so is the cast. However, Korean actors have more opportunities to speak English than American performers. Another feature of the cast is that Asin (Kim Chan Kyu) and Tae Woo (Yoon Tae Woo) are given more romantic screen time. We’re aware that they’re gay. The makers gave those girlish accents and clothing to make them look so. That was a cliché, to be sure.

The action and emotional themes are perfectly balanced by the close-ups and wide-angle shots. So is Han Jae Woon’s fantastic direction. The clothing and make-up worn by each performer were simple but appealing. It was something that could have happened in real life.

Every episode of this show has a childish animation in the title. Even the visual effects are subpar, which is surprising given the series’ sci-fi and otherworldly themes.

The writing in this series is never really good. In terms of both the amount of time spent on each episode and the number of episodes, the series is too short. The writing is awful, despite the intriguing plot.

When Ji Han is apprehended and bound for the scientific experiment at the end of the series, some liquid is drawn from his body, which seems to me like a blood test procedure. Then there’s a jump cut, and everything returns to normal, with no flashback to what transpired in the interim. For me, the finale is quite perplexing.

The fact that there are three vampires in all has been mentioned several times. So, what about them? Why was Ji Han the only one targeted and not the others? The show was entertaining enough, but it lacked in the details department.

Star Power

HyungTae (played by Ahn Dae Kyum) and Yu Ri (played by Kim Yoo Ri) were well-performed than our protagonist.

Overall Opinion

Due to its intriguing plot and several fantastic side characters, the series is suitable for a one-time viewing. The series is available on YouTube, so you can binge it over there.
