The Feel-Good Part

The comedic duo crime fighters will never go out of style. It is truly a beloved format, and this show continues to make it live on. The chemistry between the two leads is perfect and given their different quirks, they still work together to solve crimes and protect their city. The story is fantastic and fun. With an episode-by-episode format, it keeps the viewers waiting to see what happens next. The short structure of the show also helps the show tremendously as we gravitate more toward the leads without getting tired of them. Its concise structure allows you to rewatch it multiple times without getting bored so that you have something light-hearted and fun while still being intense. Cop dramas tend to take themselves way too seriously, but Oretachi wa Abunakunai – Cool ni Saboru Keijitachi is not one of those dramas. It is fun and exciting while maintaining its mystery and suspense throughout the drama.

The Disappointing Factor

While its short format is exciting, there is a tendency for audiences to get tired of it because we know how each episode ends. The two get a case, and by the end of the case, they catch the killer. In this drama, however, that tendency is challenged because we see our characters grow from episode to episode. The music in the drama does not stand out, but it fits great. It is a nitpicky criticism because the show is excellent. The pros outweigh the cons of this drama.

In-Depth Analysis

Throughout the years, we have seen several dramas, movies, TV shows, and other stories that depict two unlikely characters working together to solve murders. This is no Sherlock Holmes and Watson duo by any means, but it is an excellent look into that trope when it is done well. No matter how you look at it, it is a fun drama with a lot of heart and great moments.

Star Power

Three screenwriters are at the helm of this great drama; Fujiki Mitsuhiko, Watanabe Kei, and Miyamoto Takeshi. Together, they create an entertaining and exciting story that is the backbone of the story and the incidents that follow. Fujiki Mitsuhiko is known for Ojisama to Neko, Takeuchi Ryoma no Satsukyu, and Asagaya Shimai no Nohohon Futarigurashi. Watanabe Kei wrote Boys! Please Kiss Him, Instead of Me, the HiGH&LOW series, and Onna wa Sore o Yurusanai. Miyamoto Takeshi is a credited screenwriter for Fullmetal Alchemist, Old Fashion Cupcake, and Byplayers: What if 100 Supporting Characters Make a Movie. Our two leads are Takano Shin and Yonaka Wataru played by Suzuki Nobyuki and Sano Hyato. Both of them are the heart of the show and have great chemistry on screen. There is something profoundly engaging about the way they interact with each other and solve crimes. Suzuki Nobuyuki stars in Prince of Legend, Anata no Koto wa Sore Hodo, HIiGH&LOW, Cinema Fighters, Revenge Girl, and Tokyo Ghoul. Interestingly enough he holds a Guinness world record for the most marshmallows held in the mouth for one minute. Sano Hayato stars in Kakegurui Twin, Todome no Kiss, Suna ni Tou – Shiri Sugita Rinjin, Blue Summer, Mix and Have a Song on Your LIps. We also have significant supporting roles from actors such as Yano Masato, Ino Hiroki, Inoue Hajime, and Omiya Taro.

Overall Opinion

This is an exciting drama. It is light-hearted, suspenseful, and a breath of fresh air in the otherwise dramatic and cold crime-fighting genre. There is a lot you can enjoy from this drama, and the fun never stops.
