In-Depth Analysis

Shinno Akari is a 28 year old detective in the Unit of the Violent Crimes Higashi Kanagawa Police Precinct. She has a unique ability she gained after her parents were tragically killed 15 years ago, she can see a person’s emotions as bright colors just by looking at them. This helps her figure out who’s telling the truth during interrogations. On the other hand, Kazehaya Ryo, who used to be a respected member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, was transferred to the Kanagawa Prefectural Police after an incident. He gets involved in questioning an 18-year-old named Unobuchi Sakiko, who survived a fall from a hotel’s fire escape with a man named Iwatagawa Shunsuke, who sadly didn’t make it. Before their fall, Sakiko posted a video on social media with a scary hashtag, #coupledyinginafewminutes. Their conversation hinted that something terrible was going to happen. So, was it a tragic suicide by two lovers, or was there a careful plan behind it? While Kazehaya is questioning Sakiko, Akari comes with her sketchbook filled with colorful drawings, trying to understand Sakiko’s emotions. Kazehaya doesn’t understand what’s happening and opposes working with Akari, not knowing about her unique ability. This sets the stage for their partnership as they try to solve complicated cases and uncover the truth.
