Drama Digest

Himawari is a comedy about Akiko, a young woman who works in the same firm as her dad, Kenichi No.1, and aspires to be a manga artist. Kenichi No.2 is Akiko’s love interest.

The Feel-Good Part

The comic part of the drama is the story’s core genre, and the drama doesn’t hold back when it comes to the costumes or the locales. Even though certain sequences were funny, everyone’s performances were slick, so it didn’t feel awkward or poorly handled. Nonetheless, it’s a well-crafted comedy that will make you laugh. The soundtrack was excellent and perfectly suited the story’s tone. Another adorable feature was the knowledge about the locality where the event was taking place.

The Disappointing Factor

The latter was a comically unpleasant figure who, thankfully, did not become oppressive. People who enjoy the romance genre will also be dissatisfied.

In-Depth Analysis

Akiko has been employed by the same firm that employs her father. As a result, her father is preoccupied with Akiko’s professional life, making her uncomfortable with his strange personality. When Akiko meets a guy at work with the same name as him, his attitude will become even more awkward. Each episode follows the main character as she tries to get along with her new colleagues while avoiding her father. The romance was understated, and it didn’t distract from the core characters, a father and daughter combination. The other characters were mostly there to help with the comedy, and they didn’t get much screen time on their own.

Star Power

The bond between a father and a daughter was far more fascinating, intriguing, and amusing. The other characters were merely there to support the main relationship, and the viewer never gets to know them beyond their brief descriptions.

Overall Opinion

Overall, the drama features a light tale that isn’t particularly deep and doesn’t delve into great detail about the characters’ relationships, but it is entertaining.
