Drama Digest:

Tatsumi Serizawa is the owner of a popular ramen chain and a master in her field of ramen. She is also a food consultant who helps other ramen shops with problems. One day, an employee of the shop, Natsukawa Aya, notices a female customer not eating a new ramen dish from the menu. The woman, Yutori Shiomi, criticizes the ramen and says that it does not taste good which makes Aya infuriated. Later the same customer comes for an interview with Tatsumi’s company and claims that she can improve the taste of the new ramen dish on the menu that she ordered before, even though she doesn’t have much experience. Serizawa decides to give her a chance.

The Feel-Good Part:

The drama gets ramen right. It is about a ramen business, and how the food industry works, and the show gets the angle of a management company right. Every episode hosts a food consultation job and thus, the episode ends with a ramen business-related lesson that is very precise and increases the quality of the show. The business arc goes well with the comedy and makes the show light-hearted but also informative and interesting. The precision is impressive and for anyone who likes ramen, this show delivers on that front very well.

The Disappointing Factor:

The premise of the show is a bit absurd and underwhelming. While it works well with every viewpoint it picks up, the basis is strange and feels very simple. Every episode has a certain pattern with a kind of ‘moral’ at the end, which isn’t a very fresh idea and the drama ends up seeming very basic when it could be more.

In-Depth Analysis:

The show does a great job showing the inner workings of the food industry, particularly ramen businesses. Every episode is like a journey with comical instances, enjoyable background plots, memorable characters, and a good look inside the management of a food company. There are background plots with minor characters that make the show more compelling to the viewers in both the story and the characters. The funny and witty dialogue builds up a good relief for the clever business bits. The characters are performed very well and seem very natural. The comic timings are perfect and the food management viewpoint adds to the charm. It is a binge-able show and it is an adaptation of a manga series. For anyone who enjoys ramen or food-related shows, this is a treat.

Star Power:

The cast has amazing comic timing. Their delivery makes the drama better. The show has some award-winning cast members, as well. The supporting characters have a good impact on the story which makes them memorable.

Overall Opinion:

A comedy show with a smart plot and good characters. It keeps the viewer hooked and is binge-able material. A light-hearted show about business and food with no complicated twists. It is a feel-good show with good character growth and a lot of food. Why wouldn’t anyone want to watch a show about ramen?
