Drama Digest:

With the help of Souma Yukihira, Erina Nakiri and the rebel forces, Tootsuki Culinary Academy is back to order, overcoming the regime of the previous school director, Elite Ten. Now they face a new hurdle called the BLUE competition where the young chefs compete to gain worldwide popularity. Meeting the new rivals, Souma and his friends will fight to conquer BLUE and to defeat Asahi Saiba, the leader of the underworld organization of chefs named Noir, who once defeated Souma and his father in Shokugeki. Let’s see the series to know how the story unravels and how Souma will conquer Noir.

The Feel-Good Part:

There are very few good factors in this season. The animation quality of this season is better than the previous two seasons which is appreciating but not that good too. The art looks sharp and crisp this season than before. One of the important improvements of this season is some character developments. Erina is finally becoming more accepting and open towards her surroundings. The same goes for Soma. The opening is cute and catchy to the audience. In this season the voice acting done is quite well which is worthy of appreciation.

Disappointing Factor:

In comparison to the other four seasons, this season is utterly disappointing. Even the fans of food wars will surely be disappointed in this season. There is no such development; rather the quality gradually decreases. BLUE is quite terrible. The finale is not built upon any previous relationships, which is a huge disappointment. Villain Asahi Saiba is just thrown into the story to be defeated by Soma. In other words, Asahi is just a character without any depth. The series is extremely rushed. Some crucial characters become useless in this season like Erina, Megumin and, Takumi. The whole idea of the underground chef is not well portrayed. It seemed like just a group of chefs were blindly following their leader, Asahi. The time for actual cooking is very low instead, it concentrates on foodgasms mostly.

In-Depth Analysis:

There is not that much depth in the characters to portray, rather they seem dull. Sometimes unnecessary dramas make people dizzy. Every aspect of arts in this series has faced a decline. The sound is forgettable. This season is not quite enjoyable.

Star Power:

Natsuki Hanae as Souma Yukihira’s voice artist did his job well. He successfully portrayed the character shades of Souma.

Overall Opinion:

Overall this anime is not a good watch. It is quite disheartening for a fan. But if there is any food wars fan, they can try it for their satisfaction, but for new viewers, it will not be a good option to watch. One might watch it as a time-pass but more expectation will hurt you.
