Drama Digest –

A beautiful sports drama with a sci-fi spin, this story impresses the audience with its fantastic plot. The boys being maestro in table tennis and music, weave both of their talents together to give a wholesome experience altogether. A collaborative project of EBiDAN, Mafumafu and illustrator Ogeretsu, it has many songs and OSTs of these bands. It is a blend of a music project and a stage show. Many other forms of music and background scores have been used in the show, which shows they have focused on this factor much along with the sports theme.

The Feel-Good Part –

The story has an exciting concept with a mix of sports and sci-fi. It also has strange dramatic twists in the midst of it, which are well laid out. The soundtrack also fits with the seriousness of the scene, and it makes the scene pop out by adding more depth and dimensions. The presence of real boy band music like the EBiDAN and the ShippuJinrai makes the audience explore their actual music altogether. They were ready to introduce such a concept to the anime and manga world, and it spoke with the audience, along with adding more heartwarming and cute scenes to make the series more touching and reliable.

The Disappointing Factor –

The series was much shorter for filling the void of connections made by the characters to the audience. It is no different than most shows being shorter in the timeline, but this show needed more time to connect as its storyline is not impressive enough to fit with the audience better. Every time a new team would appear in the story, it would feel like an action story instead of a sports drama. The accuracy of the sport they are shown playing is not up to the mark, it could’ve been shown much better. The parts lose the viewer’s interest due to the boring scenes and uninteresting scenes.

In-Depth Analysis –

The special effects added in the storyline are very well-executed. The characters, Hijikata Toshiki and Akechi Jubei along with Inoue Monta and Ito Shunsuke,        trust each other and have their pains and issues in their past. The gradual process of coming with each other and trusting each other after middle school is inspiring to watch. The blend between music and sports is rare to watch. No one expected the audience to see such a crossover and that makes the series even more special and unique. Long story short, the plotline worked and the compilation proved successful for such a space. The storyline is vast and intricate with a lot of occurrences happening even half a year later. The story is beautifully staged and made.

Star Power –

The characters were brilliantly made with the family dynamics, and the friendships formed with the central team and the rivals were also fantastic. The interactions were well made. The acting done by the characters showed its true colours, where the story is mainly based on boy groups and their members. Every character has its trauma, but the way they all focus on the sport and, the accompanying music playing in the background is very inspiring and exciting to watch.

Overall Opinion –

It is a worthwhile watch and viewers need to watch this drama with an open mind.
