Drama Digest

Based on Kis-My-Ft2’s Miyata Toshiya and Tamamori Yuta’s songs entitled ‘Be Love’, ‘Hoshi ni Negai wo’, and  ‘Unmei”. Miyata is an editor and Tamamori is a writer. They both jointly work on a picture book which was almost completed. They both visit Miyata’s seaside villa after two years, where they spend their days immersed in love and affection, and Tamamori simultaneously works on the picture book. But at last, their twisted fate curtails their happiness. Their love story explores the themes of jealousy and grief.

The Feel-Good Part

The story is excellent at scripting and acting, which expands the audience’s curiosity. It’s a great love story with a brilliant supernatural concept.  The chemistry between the two main leads shows the drastic shift in every story tone. Their love, chemistry, and acting almost make us immersed in the show.

The Disappointing Factor

It’s not exactly unique in terms of storytelling and screen playing some scenes. It almost calls off in the near conclusion because of the sudden switch from reality and fantasy world between the two leads. The execution of the bad news in the show was vague, which failed to deliver the intended emotions to viewers. They could’ve worked better on the closure to the two characters because it felt rushed.

In-Depth Analysis

This piece of work is a perfect blend of drama, love, fantasy, and the supernatural. The hidden theme of the series is thought-provoking that life so is uncertain. The hard reality of uncertainty of life is analyzed by the end of the story. Thus, this conveys a vital message of living our life to the fullest and also makes us realize the unbound nature of love regardless of the situation and the extent it takes us to do things for them.

Star Power

Tamamori, as the picture book writer, does an excellent job in bringing out the innocence of the character he’s playing and the seriousness of an emerging writer. Also, Miyata as the editor of the picture book pulls off his role effortlessly. The overall chemistry between the main leads is fantastic and brings out their roles effortlessly. Miyata brings the needed refinement to the character with his support to the other main lead.

Overall Opinion

Be love is a great love story. Besides the flaw of some technical aspects of the show, the romance and love between Tamamori and Miyata outshine those flaws. It’s a recommended series for BL fans around the world. Although the closure is unconvincing, it’s a must-watch series for the actors and the concept.
