The Most Important Thing also known as The Power Source is a Chinese TV show about Wei Cheng. Lushan Heavy Industry invited Wei Cheng, an industry expert, to implement a new technological innovation and a new production mode. Despite the struggles, the young industrial team Wei Cheng joined inspired him to persevere in the face of setbacks.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama shows the impact of initiative from low-level workers to top management. The initial conflict and the gradual acceptance among the characters are beautifully written and developed. The tension due to continuous research and the need to make profit drives this drama, but it’s also personally crafted and has incredible characters, which makes it engaging.

The Disappointing Factor

There were no particular drawbacks to this show. It was a beautiful show that not only helps the viewers understand the internal structure of an organization and the know-how of state-owned enterprises in China. Though 36 episodes is a long runtime and may feel stretched the show manages to keep itself interesting and pleasing till the end.

In-Depth Analysis

The Most Important Thing also known as The Power Source is a Chinese TV show about Wei Cheng. Lushan is a state-owned heavy industry company in serious financial trouble. They are on the brink of bankruptcy and the only way Lushan’s chairman, Fang Rui Zhou thinks, is set to sell all their inventory and production machinery and turn the whole company into a financial company. That means that for every 10,000 employees, he keeps 6,000. For dual Ph.D. researcher Wei Cheng, this is a disaster. He is finishing testing an engine he invented and believes it will change the fate of the company. From constant conflict to periods of conformity, from early dismissal to acknowledgment, Wei Cheng is inspired by the workers’ relentless enthusiasm. Ultimately, they all work together to develop the core technology that will make smart manufacturing successful. This drama was very interesting because of its insight into the management of state-owned enterprises in China. Then add in a great story, great characters, and a great cast, and you find yourself watching a 36-episode drama about production companies and engine development. The cast is great. Overall, it’s an interesting watch.

Star Power

The star power of the show is the cast and the writing. The characters, the story arc, and the relationship development were all well-thought and beautifully executed. The actors did an excellent job expressing the characters and making it a rememberable show.
