Drama Digest

Three unlikely individuals, Ryu Sung Joon, Ryu Sung Hoon, and Jo Eun Ki, must now come together to uncover a series of deaths and the truths behind them. These serial murder cases are the deaths of several jury members as their victims. Our three individuals are entirely different from one another but need to work together to solve this crime. Ryu Sung Joon is an enthusiastic and hardworking detective whose determination to catch criminals places him among the top detectives. Ryu Sung Hoon is his older brother. He is a judge who looks for everything to be perfect and who earned the top spot in the bar exam and graduated at the top of his class due to his wit and intelligence. And finally, Jo Eun Ki is a social worker with a warm heart full of justice. She is known to put people first and provide homes and, at times, be a reliable guardian for children who come from poor and unfortunate backgrounds. Why did fate bring these three together? Will they be able to catch the killer? Who is the killer, and what do they plan to do with them? Watch the drama and find out.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama is intense. Not only are there high stakes, but there is a deep pressure for the killer to be found, or our leads will be in so much trouble. What makes this drama so great is its ability to tell a cohesive story through all the high-paced action, gore, and drama. It is worth a watch solely for its ability to tell an enticing story. We also have great acting from our leads that adds to the intensity of the drama and makes us want to know what happens next. Visually, the show is stunning and tells us stories using color and lighting, which is unlike anything you’ve seen before. One great instance of the use of color is when they use blue lighting when there’s blood on the screen.

The Disappointing Factor

There are moments in the drama where it gears towards a standard cop-bad guy chase action which does not help the drama considering its uniqueness is what makes it so good. Moments where it focuses more on the drama and the chase are the moments where it is the weakest. But even so, it is still an excellent drama with an exciting story to tell. For those who do not like gore, this drama might be too intense and might feel a bit extreme. There are a lot of gruesome deaths in the drama, and it might make viewers feel uncomfortable.

In-Depth Analysis

The show talks about justice and the place of the legal system in a very thought-provoking manner. There are instances where it talks about and makes viewers ask themselves about the position of a jury within the judicial system. Every element of the drama is perfectly crafted and perfect. The show also uses visuals to significant effect and is an excellent example of how dramas should use their medium as visuals and tell us a story in a unique way. While it loses itself in certain areas, it is still an intense and great drama to watch regardless.

Star Power

The drama is written by Kwon Ki Kyung, best known for works such as Andante. As mentioned earlier, the story is the best part of this drama, and with great direction from Shin Yong Hwi, it translates beautifully on screen. Shin Yong Hwi directed some great projects, such as Bad Guys, Gap Dong, Faith, Voice 4: Judgment Hour, The Great Show, and Cross. Our three leads are Ryu Sung Joon, Ryu Sung Hoon, and Jo Eun Ki, played by Ok Taec Yeon, Hae Seok Jin, and Jung Eun Ji. The three work great off each other and have individual moments that truly make them shine. However, they are their best when they interact with one another. Ok Taec Yoon is best known for his roles in dramas and movies such as Cinderella’s Sister, Dream High, Wonderful Days, Who Are You, Marriage Blue, and House of the Disappeared. He is also known as the main rapper in the boy group 2 pm. Ha Seok Jin is best known for his roles in dramas and movies such as Shark, If Tomorrow Comes, Drinking Solo, See You After School, Who Slept with Her, and Unstoppable Marriage. Jung Eeun Ji is best known as a member of Apink. She stars in dramas and movies such as Reply 1997, Trot Lovers, Sassy Go Go, Apink Special Movie: Horn, 0.0MHz, and Untouchable. We also have some significant supporting roles from actors such as Jung In Ki, Jung Eui Wook, and Park Ji Bin.

Overall Opinion

The drama is fascinating to watch. There is something you can look forward to and enjoy with every scene. There are moments where it feels off, but it makes up for it 10-fold and is a fascinating watch all around.
