Drama Digest

The Story resolves around coffee shop gets involved with the members of a fictional band known as ‘Leopold’. Stated as a BL (Boy’s Love) romance series, this queer drama follows the story of Kang In Soo, who lives and breathes music. His passion and talent for music make him a Youtube sensation.Choi Min Sung, records his performances and uploads them on YouTube. Soon, one of his biggest fans, Yoon Sang Yi, approaches him with an offer of working in association with a major record company. While fate and music make the two protagonists meet, their slow romance blossoms as they work together and learn about each other well. Their proximity in living space and working space make them develop feelings for each other while being inhibited by their fears and limitations. The show explores their feelings, issues, and most importantly, the thing that binds them together – love for music.

The Feel-Good Part

With a sweet, rom-com feel, this short series is quirky, musical, romantic and will make you smile constantly. The characters are loveable, cute, and not very good at hiding their feelings which makes it fun to watch the show. From the chemistry to the character development, everything will make you feel gigglish like a teenager in love, and it will leave a lasting imprint on you for a long time.

The Disappointing Factor

While the ‘romance in the air’ vibe won’t let you see any faults within the show, you can find, with profound observation, that the societal problems could have been explored more in the show, and the role of side characters could have been emphasized more. Being a mini-series, the story’s pace feels rushed a little bit and doesn’t explore the relationship of the protagonists more.

In-Depth Analysis

South Korean dramas, especially the ones belonging to the romance genre, are popular for their cute scenes, character developments, and overall wonderful romantic experiences. The brilliance of this series doesn’t just lie in the BL romance it depicts with its on-point plot pace but, at the same time, in its music score and overall atmosphere that the show creates. The side character’s supportive nature is too new and healthy to view. Lastly, the show doesn’t just restrict itself to romance and love but also talks about a passion in life and dreaming big as an artist and how one can achieve what they wish for if they have a love for their passion as well, which in this show, is music.

Star Power

Two already popular singers, Lee Sang and Kang In Soo appear in this refreshing and cuddly-vibe kind of musical show, so it is evident that their acting and incredible chemistry will leave an impact on the show. Both the leads give a powerful display of emotions in the show.

Overall Opinion

With the increasing awareness of LGBTQIA+ communities and relationships, more and more shows and movies are giving attention to representation. Korean dramas are too gaining popularity in today’s time all over the world, and when we see Korean dramas broadening their horizons with BL romance stories, it is always refreshing and exciting to see such stories.
