The Feel-Good Part

The cinematography of this drama is beautiful, which adds depth to emotions in every scene. The second half has a dramatic tone with a dark vibe and a hint of mystery which keeps you hooked on the story.

The Disappointing Factor

There is a lack of explanation of what happens with the characters and the idea of time travel. So it requires you to deduce these mysteries on your own. It is not necessarily a disappointing factor as it also adds more mystery.

In-Depth Analysis

Shining For One Thing is a well-written drama about regret and second chances in life. It is not a time travel drama with lots of twists and turns, nor a fast-paced story. It was about taking your time, getting to know those around you, and realizing that our decisions do not fundamentally alter the course of history but also affect us. The drama does not delve too deeply into how time and space travel work. They left this connection on an old cell phone. The primary matter of interest is the connection between the two protagonists. Even though romance plays a significant role in the plot, it has an innocent feel as it is in a high school setting. Lin Bei Xing’s time travels to different months. So things change, and the storyline does not become repetitive in any episode. The plot has more depth because of this type of time travel. Later in the drama, it is revealed that she ends up in various time dimensions for a reason. The ending is very open and up for the audience’s interpretation.

Star Power

Qu Chu Xiao (Zhang Wan Sen) and Zhang Jianing (Lin Bei Xing) performed admirably. They gave the characters a great deal of emotional depth, which gives the viewers a sense of the realism of the characters.

Overall Opinion

This drama has a good balance of romance and mystery. Highly recommend this drama if you enjoy high school romance!
