DRAMA DIGEST:

This 27-episode story centers on two people who were abducted together yet come from entirely different backgrounds. One suffered a 24-hour memory loss, making for some fascinating tales. Roger Kwok, Shaun Tam, David Chiang, Grace Wong, Roxanne Tong, Zoie Tam, Elvina Kong, and others starred in the series.

THE FEEL-GOOD PART:

It was entertaining to watch Yiu Chong make every effort to keep Yat Yin from finding out that he was also engaged in the kidnapping in the early episodes.

THE DISAPPOINTING FACTOR:

Things become quite draggy as the story progresses. I find Roxanne Tong’s interactions with Shaun to be extremely tedious. The same is true of the scenes with Shaun’s younger sister and her relationship with a vet. When Shaun’s wife is discovered dead and appears to have been killed on the day of his captivity, the drama only picks up its pace again as it approaches the conclusion—which is a bit too late.

IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS:

Wu Yaozhong, a refrigerator mechanic, and Meng Yiyan, an interior designer, develop a delicate connection due to a kidnapping, a case of amnesia, a missing woman, and a large quantity of money. While his wife, who was in charge of paying the ransom, disappears with half of the funds, Yiyan loses all memory of the incident.

However, Yaozhong wants to take advantage of the opportunity to recover half of the ransom while keeping his involvement in the incident a secret. Yiyan intends to rely on Yaozhong to discover the truth behind the kidnapping and his wife’s location. Psychotherapist Lan Haiqing helps Yiyan to piece together his recollections. Surprising facts come to light as he gradually rearranges his thoughts.

STAR POWER:

Roger gives a good performance in this instance (he has a lot of experience, particularly in comedy parts), but Shaun’s performance falls short. Shaun’s performance here is pretty terrible. His acting in this situation is neither natural nor believable. In some scenes, his movements and facial expressions got unnatural.

OVERALL OPINION:

Overall, It’s impossible to judge whether the drama was excellent or awful. It was too needlessly drawn out, and the filler scenes were boring to watch. The disappearance of Freeya was a protracted death. It was gratifying to watch the last few episodes because of how wonderfully the plot, surprise, and reveal were handled.
